Don't let my opinion shape the entire trip.

Although I think it's the standard to start in Colorado and end in Moab. Also, if you end up having more interest for another day(s) I'd say go for it. There will also be another time to do it, plus, there's an endless assortment of other trail I'd like to run.

But anyways, as is, I would probably drive down Tuesday the 27th after work and camp at the trail head so hopefully we could get an early start.

    Few questions:

For you moab veterans, whats the temperature at roughly? I may have a furry friend with me and well...I suck in the heat and require tons of water to be comfortable.

Whats the gas options looking like? I have a extra tank but hate packing gas if there is a normal priced gas station close enough. I pack as little as possible...just never been one of those "what if" kinda guys.

Temp: good, 60-80. Maybe more. Make sure to have plenty of water and shade for the fuzzy.
    Fuel nearby: good
Most trails go through town. And there is plenty of fuel there.

No worries... like I said I'll be there plenty early.. and it seems harder to get a group to do a 3-4 day run... than it is to get them to go to moab.

but if you could somehow get out of work the 27th... I wouldn't be mad at ya ;-)

That's probably a good idea, get an early start the first day, since a lot of that (I've been told) is the boring part...

I keep reading 2-3 days, where are you seeing this 3-4? Especially with a smaller group.

That's what the thread's I've read have all said... though they've all been 10+ vehicles...

I'd be stoked if it was 2-3 days more days IN moab... and honestly I think you're probably right... but I don't want to have it be a race either....
