They aren't too bad, but I wasn't being winched up ledges and such... I'd hate to fuck up a $1000 leaf pack.

And yeah hell's probably won't be the best test trail. Haha

ehh... it was a XZJ with a broken tierod, kicking up rocks/gravel and someone in the crowd taking offense throwing a softball sized rock at his truck, hitting the roof, driver getting out, few words exchanged, punches thrown, they dissapear behind the xj onto the ground, cops tackling and subduing.

looked to be a couple good punches thrown but they were obsured by the XJ and how far away they were...

Dude starts up the sandy/gravel area at the bottom of tater salad in an old cherokee, his front axle is fubard to begin with. He backs down from the hill and is in front of spectators, is spinning his tires and flinging dirt/rocks. Another dude (one of the spectators) picks up a rock at least the size a softball and throws it at the guys truck and it hits the roof. Dude in truck gets out and fight ensues. PD/Park Rangers tackle the guys to break up fight.

...and they all lived happily ever after.

I really want to go to EJS some time, but I've heard the number of DB's attending the event is growing every year.

Edit: Damn, I shoulda refreshed before I posted. Ebbs beat me to it!

Kinda... haha It was my best option for dual purpose at the time. Links would be ideal, but not only were they out of the budget at the time, but well out of my skill level...
Not a rock crawling leaf pack... Too many leafs in the pack... haha

i call BS we could have easily built links for $1000 Ill be well under that for the big boy shit im gonna put under my truck. and as far as to many leafs well i call BS you probably dont have much more than me. guess well have to take a grinder to all your leafs so they dont have square edges.

It probably would have been more like you building links if "we" tried to build them... I could at least help a lot with the leaf pack install, but I don't know shit about designing a link setup. And it would have taken a lot more shop time I imagine...

I don't know if it's because they are longer than yours and 11 stacked together or just thicker and wider or a combination of all those things, but they don't twist all that well. I imagine I could have a lot more articulation if I pulled a few leafs out, since the leaf packs not handling the twist seems to be the limiting factor on my articulation, but I would lose too much ride height. Hopefully the new bushings help with some of that twist though. I probably shouldn't complain too much. I still have about 20" of articulation.

I know and I understand that. I'm building it more towards LT than crawling at this point, but still trying to keep it crawling. I'm just saying why it is not a crawling kit and what would be better for a crawler basically. haha

Though when I did the DMZ kit I expected it to crawl a little better since I have more travel overall compared to the stock leafs, but I think it might actually crawl worse... No clearance. I think the DMZ leafpacks are too soft for my weight when crawling in the rocks and I use up my up travel too quickly and lose clearance and get my skids hung up on the rocks and such. That's why like Silas said, Most of the good crawlers have like 2" of uptravel. Moab is going to be an interesting experience for me this year. haha
