My son and I installed a simple, clean set up in his 2014 Taco DC. We used an Lc2i Pro connected to his OEM head unit using feeds from front speakers. He noticed since we installed the sub that his 6x9s(aftermarket that we ran before sub and were loud) are not nearly as loud (almost quiet) when the lc2i, sub & Amp are up and running but he had an issue that when the sub Amp is off the sound to the 6x9 goes up tremendously. Is the power from the front speakers is being sent to the LCi2 Pro instead of to his speakers? .. Is this normal when tapping to an Lc2i for it to draw that much power out? ... What are we missing that would drain the power from the fronts while sub is running but when sub, Amp off provides high amount of sound back in the fronts again.

    Equipment :
    OEM head unit
    Lc2i Pro
Jl Audio Slash 500/1 v2 (using internal crossover of Slash Amp)
    Jl Audio 13tw5
    Mr Marv Box

    Thanks in advance,
    Michael

We would need to know how it’s all wired up. How are you getting your audio signal from the head unit to the LC

Good point... He is using a plug and play connector from Crutchfield connected up behind the OEM head unit to pull the signal. It pulls the signal in stereo and the two sets of wires are run directly to the Lc2i pro.

He has 4 Guage wire for both grounds and power for amp. Ground wire is less than 2 ft long. He has a block he is using to supply power for the Amp and Lc2i.

    Anything else that would help?

    Thanks in advance.
