Like everything else in life, not everyone is going to like the same thing. Same applies to Toyota vehicles. Let people buy the junk they want, at the end of the day I'll always have a Toyota and love it :)

I've had my 2014 for just over a month and in my short time with it, I've come to understand why so many people buy them. Simply put, the best "small" truck on the market and it gives the larger trucks a run for there money, especially when you consider what you get for your hard earned dollars!!

Just bought mine last Saturday. Ride is a bit stiff but still a quality ride if I wanted a smooth ride I would have bought a Cadillac. I am 5'10" and have a slight step up but thats what I love about it! Everyone has there opinions.

"Low Points- Ride, handling, driving position, high step-in,".

All the reason its able to do what it does. That's like an automotive journalist knocking down a Prius cause you cant go wheeling with it....

    1. I'm not so sure Yahoo is a credible source in my mind.

    2. Of course the Yaris is disappointing. look at it.

As a die hard Jeep guy, I'm used to ten years of crap reviews on purpose-built vehicles such as the Rubicons. These usually come from Consumer Reports, Edmunds, etc. These reviews are from people who are used to cars and they are writing for their audience and of course they are going to focus on the "flaws" such as ride quality, MPG, interior dB, etc.

This picture of the article writer should explain the bad Tacoma review.
I think her ideal vehicle is a Honda odyssey.

We have only had our 2014 Tacoma a few weeks....It is a great truck!
I'm still getting use to the smaller size (full size trucks up to this point).
I've read the transition can take awhile.

    I agree with consumer reports.

The latest models from the full size guys (Ford/Dodge/GMC) have made huge leaps in the truck game, while Toyota has done nothing for 11 years.

I have been shopping for a new truck and sadly the Tacoma doesnt even come in to the fray anymore.

I would love to check out the "new" gen of Tacoma that is coming, but it is obviously coming in 2016, and the only reason I would buy a new Tacoma is the Size and reliability. It is so far behind the rest in terms of being user friendly it is astounding.

I have been looking at Dodge's new Ecodiesel with 240hp/420 trq and it makes a great case.

The truck is luxury car quiet, even better than my Taco which I completely sound deadened. It rides better that any truck I have ever felt. It has a good 10 speaker stereo, a great 8.4" Screen, Sunroof, heated power folding mirrors and the list goes on. All for $44,000 with the Diesel that gets 28mpg! (Dodge has 8,500 off promotion). The Tacoma Sport Premium package goes for $38,000.

I also bet Dodge will bend a little more on pricing, making the margin between the two even less.

The Dodge also has great features like RamBox (which would be ultra convienent for my avid camping), Air suspension (lowers onroad for MPG while adding 2" more ground clearance offroad).

I am not a fan of fullsize trucks, I have one for work and it is a burden parking and driving in town, but The full size trucks of today really make the Tacoma feel 2005 again.

I love that my Tacoma can go offroad, but ultimately, like 99% of the people here, the offroading I do could easily be done by a lesser vehicle.

I will still be waiting a year to see the 2016 tacoma, but unless it knocks my socks off, I bet I will be driving a full size. Which is unfortunate because this is my 4th Tacoma truck and they are so damn reliable, but sometimes you want a little more.

but your whole post rants about a full size vs a med/small truck.

you cant compare the features, etc of a full size to a mid/lower tier truck. you dont put all your best features in a lower truck and expect your full size full feature trucks to sell.

thats why toyota has a tacoma and a tundra. if you want all the bells and whistles, get a full size.

    :)

I'm not disappointed in my Tacoma. I actually had a dream that I was washing mine last night. May have been the best dream I've ever had that wasn't about the Gilmore Girls.;)

Also I think they are talking about quality of ride and I don't get why so many people want a quiet ride in a truck. To each their own though.

They should do a report on reliability. Guarantee the Tacoma comes in the top 10. I bought all 3 of mine because of their reliablity, I can work on it with fair amount of eaze and its purty, even after 11 years with no redesign.

I'll be getting my 6th later this month, they are what they are - great trucks you can take anywhere and never have a problem without requiring great amounts of maintenance.

What else can you ask for? It's a truck, If I wanted a Cadillac I would have bought one.
