the only problem i see today with electric is the death of the cross country road trip. although with the super chargers that let you charge 150+ miles in 10 minutes (fake math, but you get the point) sure is making it more and more realistic.

well... that and off roading. but how many poeple do 300 mile off road trips. yes... i'm sure some poeple do

Most dealers have both, take them each for a test drive and decide.

When I trade in vehicles I like to drive to the dealer in 1st gear at redline. My pops bought a car, and the one he wanted came from LA and they actually drove it up, and it had 300+ miles on it. I joked with him that it probably spent the whole time bouncing off the rev limiter, I still tease him about it.

I had this same niggling voice in my brain about the 2nd gen vs 3rd gen the longest time. So last week while waiting for the routine service for my 16 Taco I decided to take a stroll into the used car lot at the dealer and put this fucking debate to rest for myself. I'm not knocking the 2nd gen and I'm sorry if I hurt some feelings but, compare to the 3rd, the design and finish is subpar. Everything I touched seem outdated and flimpsy. It threw me back to my days just got out of college drove around in my pops 89 Camry until I saved enough for a new GTI (what a mistake). Every time I pass a 2nd gen now I'm thinking it's nice and I love the look and it could make a nice addition if I ever run into a low mileage electric blue one. But I will happily keep my 3rd gen as my daily.

To be honest, and this is off topic, I'd rather be seen in a restored 82 FJ45 diesel pickup. Thats something to live for. Like fine wine they are.

I wish I lived in a world where $10k+ was "a few bucks".

I would not buy an ugly ass 3rd Gen that likely will have major rear diff problems. Nor would I spend that much on a mid size truck.

People have said this about every single car since the first car was made. Yet people still drive 20+ year old cars. Almost every Honda and Toyota made in 1997 that wasn't crashed is still driveable with little to no maintenance. Don't underestimate the power of engineering R&D.
