2014 Tacoma Baja

I purchased my 2012 BAJA used with 12,000 miles on it for 27500.00 and it had an ARB bumper already on it.I have since added Demello sliders and 255 85 r16 FJ trail Team rims(i traded the Baja rims for the FJ rims)plus a 2014 touch screen radio..I offroad alot and find the Baja suspension works great i get no rubbing at all with the 33's.

I was not too impressed with the stereo when I test drove a '14 TRD Sport with Entune Plus, but then again, I did not spend much time playing with it and currently drive an '11 X3 with an iDrive, which has a pretty solid Nav/Stereo. If I end up really hating the Entune thing, I will rip it out, sell it and get an Alpine.

I was actually thinking of finding a BMW iDrive control knob and trying to make it work in a Taco. In theory (famous last words) it should be possible.

I'm in CA and currently shopping for a Baja. Emailed a bunch of dealers in CA, AZ and NV and the best price i've been quoted so far is $36K.

What attracts me to Baja is that I get a lifted truck from the get go, plus OEM warranty. I can drive a lifted truck with nice suspension for 3 years and not worry about a dealer telling me to pound send if anything breaks, because the first thing I would do if I bought a non-Baja truck is a lift and bigger tires ($2,000-$3,000 out of pocket). Baja gets me from 0 to an off-road bumper without an out of pocket expense of getting a suspension/wheels/tires. I am also getting a Leer topper, which is another hefty expense on top of the purchase price.

Any way you look at it, financing additional 3-4 grand over number of years on top of the truck price at a low ~3% APR is better than dropping 3-4K on your credit card at 15% or more. Unless you have some disposable cash, of course.

Worst case scenario, I rip out TRD Baja suspension and sell it on this very forum, recover a pretty good chunk of cash, and then buy a better suspension.
