2014 Tacoma Buld (Budget build need major help)

    I'd also add that the OP said he planned to use the truck to transport a mountain bike and kayaks. If you ask me having much of a lift would make getting a bike especially more difficult.

    My truck has no lift and I have a fork mount for my mountain bike. I have to step up on one rear tire into the bed dismount my bike, step down on a rear tire then pull my my bike back and off the bed. With a 3 inch lift even I'd find that process a bit irritating and I'm a very fit person walking 12~14 miles a day. (I work for a natural gas company). I'm also 6 foot 2 and have very long legs. Just food for thought. Remember when you are done playing for the day you must also put your toy away for transport at which point you'll be tired.

    Of course its your truck do what you but take the time to think about all the things you might do. For me form follows function and I'm not overly concerned about looks and doing something purely for a cosmetic reason is at the bottom of my list of reasons to do something to a vechile.

    I'll also agree that anything larger than a 17 inch wheel looks silly on a midsize truck.
