2014 tacoma entune radio white screen

My radio screen went white all of sudden. It is no longer functioning, just shows a bright white screen on display. Additionally, when I turn my truck off the screen stays lit up. I had to disconnect my battery in order to make the screen turn off, but when I restarted my car the problem persisted. I have seen other threads in here with similar problems, but I never saw an answer on how this is fixed. Anyone gone through this and have any ideas on what I should do next? I appreciate any advice!

 

Common symptom of the stock radio dying, mine did the same thing. I recall some people fixed this by re-soldering cracked joints so you could try that if you are good with electronics. Else it's time to search for either a stock replacement on the classifieds or upgrade to an aftermarket unit. Good luck.

 

There is a manual reset/reboot you could try: from "on", turn the unit off with the power button and let go, then push it in for "on" and hold it there until it reboots.

 

My 2013 still running stock, I’ve been happy with its capabilities and functions. Eventually aftermarket will take its space if the factory one dies. Toyota changed up radios quite a bit, making fixing or replacement a bit more challenging. A quick search on eBay I found a couple.

 

My radio gets a freeze-screen occasionally or no response from the buttons or the touch screen, and every so often re-boots on it's own. Once or twice a year.

 

My 2014 4Runner just did this last week. Did you ever get a solution to this? I have a friend that is good with electronics if I knew where to look for cracked pins
