Congrats on the truck and spending $1795 for a "premium sound system"....lmao. Why are you here??? Go enjoy your truck and quite trying to throw shade at the Toyota owners. You come across like this...

I am not a Ford hater either as if I were going to own a truck from another brand it would be Ford.

the features you're pumping are only new to your market. it's the same euro design and same engine they've been pumping out for years as a T6 except you cannot get a manual version. guess that makes it a limited edition.

enjoy the quick acceleration on concrete, good luck if you go off road

    the interior is awesome (seats/layout)
I had a chance to sit in the '19 Ranger the other day that Icon Vehicle put their suspension on. the #1 thing I didnt like and will keep me from ever buying the new ranger is that the back seat on the double cab. Any adult over 5',6" wont be able to sit back there comfortably. Unless they make the cab bigger, its useless for a 4 door. Thats where my 2nd gen shines, not in the comfiness or tech, but the head and leg room.

The Ranger is tacky man. Crappy knobs, awful four wheel drive control, shit storage, crappy armrest, rear seat is lame. No storage behind the rear seat, hell no. No 60/40 split, great engineering Ford!
Dont care how fast it. Plastic, missaligned trim, more plastic then some more hard plastic. I sat it one , then sat in a 3rd generation Tacoma. Night and day difference.

    Honest review.

Yeah but there is a difference it plastics and finish. GM trucks I have been in are terrible with the Fords being better. Still don’t like the feel of them compared to my ‘11 Tacoma.

If we could get the overseas version of the Ranger with the turbo diesel and manual transmission I'd be all over it. When I was living in the Philippines a couple of the guys I four wheeled with had them and they went the same places as the Hi-Luxes (which is a better truck than the Tacoma, especially with the diesel), Pajeros, and other vehicles in the group. I haven't tried the new American version so can't comment on them.

Sorry guy's. But the classic simple design of the 1st generation keeps true to the functionality of a truck. My vote for best truck interior goes to the 1st gen. Taco..19 years later still looking fresh and best of all still driving like new.

I'll tell you what I think.

I don't like the terrain select/which I also believe is the 4wd knob in the Ranger. I guess that's acceptable in the Explorer, where I first saw the knob.

The old Ranger had a very basic dash layout, which I liked. Similar to the 1st gen.

    LOL.

I own a second gen Tacoma, purchased new in 2011. I’ve been lurking on this site for reasearch and maintenance tips since 2009 (when I first considered buying one).

Criticism of something isn’t always a bad thing. I appreciate my Toyota for what it it, but understanding ones limitations and working towards something better is always a positive.

Don’t be upset because I questioned your precious 3rd gen. Obviously you found value in it.
