Hey gang...I was rear-ended the other day and there's a little bit of damage to my rear bumper. We have our claims adjuster coming out on Friday, but I was wondering if someone here can measure the gap between the cab and the bed of the truck. I think my bed was pushed forward a little bit in the accident and want to know for certain. Thanks!

    Later.

The gap should be the same on any 2nd gen, not '14 specific.

And if the bed is moved, you have deeper issues, so an underneath inspection would be required.

Mine measures ~ 1" from the leading edge of the bedside to the trailing edge of the door.

I can run out in a bit if no one else has an answer for you. I also have a '14 but like said above, it should all be the same for 2nd gen.

do note that beds can move around mounting wise on the frame so one persons measurements might be slightly different than anothers, they should all be pretty close though. Biggest thing to look for on your truck is an uneven gap between sides and top to bottom.

Doesn't matter what the adjuster finds, once in the shop if they find more damage, the at fault party is still on the hook for that too. Just make sure it goes to a shop you trust

Thanks everyone. Hoping to get a new Pelfreybilt bumper out of this, we'll see.

It's definitely pushed up a bit. Once the adjuster sees it, I'll bring it to the Toyota collision center in town.

    Later.
