So I have a 2014 4wd TRD Tacoma. Recently my mechanic retired and I have a new one. I’m pretty certain my former mechanic lubed the truck at service but may be confusing that with my older gen 1…. Anyways, my new mechanic says he’s “1 million %” certain there are no zerk fittings and nothing to lube on the 2014…. I googled it there and it says yes, he doubled down no.

am I crazy or did the truck not get properly lubed??

    Thank you for reading

There are grease fittings on the front and rear driveshaft u-joints, nothing else.

The fittings are on one of the end caps of each of the rear u-joints and on the cross on the front u-joints.

Crawl under the truck and have a look, should be fairly obvious if they have been getting greased or not.

Replace your new mechanic with someone who knows his ass from a pork sandwich.

Your 4WD Tacoma has 5 zerks -- 3 on the rear driveshaft, 2 on the front.

He must have been working on a prerunner before and got confused. 4wd has 5 zerks while prerunner has zero

The factory u-joints are greaseable and most aftermarket u-joints are greaseable as well, but there are some aftermarket sealed non-greaseable u-joints.
The factory ball joints are non-greaseable, but many aftermarket ball joints are greaseable.
Just some things to keep in mind if you've had any of these parts replaced, easiest way to know is just to get under your truck and look.

Did your previous- or current mechanic spray white lithium grease on all the door hinges and [critically] the fuel filler hinge?

One on each u-joint for a total of four, plus one on the slip joint at the front of the rear driveshaft.

Single cab gets away with a one-piece rear driveshaft (like the 4Runner) because of its shorter wheelbase, so there is one fewer U-joint. I don't know if the slip yoke has a zerk fitting like the 4Runner.

So I took it in, and we lubed the driveshaft, but there were only three, not 5… maybe some trucks are different? Looked everywhere, took pictures, only saw 3

Did you look on the front driveshaft? There should be two on there.
