2014 Tacoma Outside Temperature Gauge?

Just picked up my 2014 double cab TRD Offroad Tacoma ...

Can someone tell me where the outside temperature gauge is? It is listed as part of the Offroad package but I can't find it ... there is no overhead console nor does it display on the instrument cluster.

 

Rear view mirror...

 

I have a "standard" mirror, no wires, nothing, just the lever to reduce glare.

The package states "auto-dimming rearview mirror, outside temperature gauge ..."

 

are you 100% sure you have a TRD? unless they changed something in 2014, i dont think you should have the standard mirror.

 

Lots of members having bought 2014 models saying unlike the brochure's description, the actual vehicles don't have the auto-dimming mirror with temp/compass display.

You have a few options: go to the dealer and see what they can do about it...haven't seen anyone have success with that yet, or you can buy an older overhead console with compass/temp display, or buy an aftermarket or oem auto-dim mirror (more expensive)

But as it is you don't have temp or compass display as i understand it.

 

A few similar threads have popped up about this. People bought the TRD and according to the 2014 brochure it "should" have the auto-dim mirror, yet people go in and buy the truck and then don't understand afterwards why it doesn't have the suped up mirror. I am doubting dealers are going to do much of anything about it after someone buys the vehicle.

For reference, brochures said the 2013 TRD-OR was supposed to have homelink like previous models, yet did not, go figure. Nothing happened with that so I can't see much of anything happening with this either.

Lesson being that if it doesn't have a feature (and it specifically states in the brochures at the end that features are subject to change/modification) you need to ask the dealer before you buy the vehicle, and if you are okay with that then go ahead and make the purchase, if not then ask what they can do about it.

 

My sales sheet with the Offroad Package features also states outside temperature gauge ..., Toyota cannot leave a purchased feature out without repercussions.

 

Because at the end of the brochure it specifically states packages are subject to change. That is how.

This is what the brochure states: "All information presented herein is based on data available at the time of posting, is subject to change without notice and pertains specifically to mainland U.S.A. vehicles only. Prototypes shown. Actual production vehicles may vary"

 

On my 09 SR5 (non-TRD), I have auto-dim with Backup camera display. Honestly, the auto-dim is almost worthless.

 

You should go see your dealer about it then if it is listed on the sale sheet but not included. I'd imagine in that case you could make a big deal about it and get one installed. It definitely is something that would work in your favor, because at that point you technically did not receive what you paid for.

Take pictures of the interior? I really don't know man, i haven't seen a 2014 yet.

 

The thread starter in that link too has the same problem. I am contacting my dealer to engage Toyota to remedy the problem.

I'm with nut, I love my auto-dimming mirror.

 

What does your window sticker say?

If your window sticker VIN number matches your truck and if it lists having an auto dimming mirrow with camera, temp, & compass..... then, you should have it in your truck. PERIOD.

If you don't...take the truck back and show the dealer....You don't have exactly what the window sticker says you should have.

 

Now that it has been brought-up, the dealer did not provide me with the window sticker. Perhaps they took it off when cleaning the car. It is not in my possession.

Yes!!!!

I would hound them to give you the window sticker!! Make sure it matches the VIN on your truck.

How else do you know what you are getting and know what you're paying for?

I have a 2014 tacoma with off-road package also and can't find the outside temperature gauge. My sticker states that it should come with one. The only outside temperature gauge I can find is the one that is displayed on the radio unit. Unfortunately, where I live I do not get a satellite signal of the outside temp.

 

Jeeez....what else did they screw you out of?

Better make sure it has four-wheel-drive. Haha
