2014 Tacoma Outside Temperature Gauge?

I mentioned it in the other thread, but my 2014 build sheet does NOT have the auto-dimming mirror or temp gauge. Personally, I don't care and would rather save the $165.

For anyone with a 2014, does the head unit display outside temp?

So the TRD Sport appears to come with one, but the TRD Off Road does not. I have a 2014 access 4x4 V6 TRD Off Road and it did not come with it. I did look at a 2014 access 4x4 V6 TRD Sport and it did have it. My TRD OR window sticker does not indicate the Auto Dim Mirror but the sport window sticker did. It seems they just did not think people who got the OR would want it I guess as its not even an option. This is also in MD which has a different Toyota distributor (Toyota Central Atlantic), between the different distributors they offer different packages. Perhaps its different between all of them

I guess the question is does anyone know a cheap place to get it from. I saw another post on here where someone checked and found the harness for it. I checked a few different websites for toyota parts and it looks like its over $500, screw that nonsense.

 

I just bought a 14 TRD OR as well, no temp displayed anywhere (mirror, dash, entune, etc). But then again I live in Houston. Don't need a thermometer to tell me it's frikin hot.

 

Head units don't display any vehicle information. You'd think a nice touch screen radio would, but nope. Unless they really changed them for 2014 which I haven't seen any evidence of yet.

 

Where the hell is it in the 2014 trd sport? Auto dimming mirror only has direction on it. (Type B auto dimming mirror).

 

just picked up a 2014 tacoma trd off road access cab yesterday,,, got home noticed i had no temp gauge,, it was listed as option on dealer website,, i checked the sticker, it was not listed there as an option.. i emailed the dealer,, within 5 minuted they called,, i had 2 options,, they will order the part and install it,, or cut me a check for 450.00,, i took the check,, now thats a dealer that cares about its customers.. just wanted to share this as some dealers go out of there way to please people and make things right

on another note.. i traded my 2001 tacoma trd offroad access cab in on this 2014 trd off road access cab ,, holy crap batman what a differance 13 yrs later,, its awesome......9 miles so far.. going out for a joy ride on there full tank of gas today.. im from northeast PA..alot of stuff to learn.. love the xm radio...

 

Look in the glove box . When they cleaned mine they stuck the window sticker it in there .
My 2013 has auto dimming mirror with camera, temp, & compass

 

i have camera it, comes up on lcd screen when i put it in reverse,,,,,, window sticker came with all the paperwork.. no temp gauge, compass.or homelink listed on the window sticker... it was listed on website of dealer as option.. they honored it by giving me the option to have it installed or the 450. check... the temp gauge would have been nice.. but the 450.00 check is nicer,, can buy a bugshield and something else with the 450.00

 

I was told by the G/M of the dealership I bought my 2014 at, that...

TOYOTA NO LONGER INCLUDES BUILD-SHEETS STUCK TO THE WINDOW, as of 2014.

Contact the dealer & they will "print you one off", is what I was told. I've yet to go back & get it...

As for the outside-temp gauge, hmmm... BRB

your info is not correct,, mine is a 2014 ,,it had a window build sticker on window, and im looking at it right now, it was in glove box inside large leather case with all the other paperwork... all the other trucks i looked at also had them..

i edited this list,, this is the correct list. that listed for my tacoma on the dealer website

 

That list includes " Firm Ride Suspension". I don't remember seeing that on my 2013. Interesting...

 

I don't know if they changed it for 2014 but the head unit will display weather info (albeit using your phone).

That is a good dealer and will most likely get a repeat customer out of that move.

 

The weather is displayed using the HD radio signal. Unfortunately it does NOT use your phone, if it did it might be accurate...

I just assumed it did since it brings up a screen that data usage may apply (or something similar) that it was running off my phone. Might help if I "actually" read the owners manual huh? lol

 

How do you get it to display the weather? Wonder if my Canadian model will do this.

 

All the 2014 I saw at my local dealerships (6 of them) has the build sheets stuck on their windows

 

Oh the GM dealer told you some slander about Toyota? Must be true.

They all include build sheets on the window. It helps sell the vehicle.

 

When I put a deposit on my 2014 TRD sport the gave me a two page build sheet of exactly what I was getting and it did come with a window sticker, no mention of the rear view mirror with temp guage on either, the dealer I was at stated that only came standard on the Limited.

They kind of have to. It's called the law. Look up Monroney or something to that effect. Been a law since the 70's.

I would be worried about the dealership.
