That's what made me switch to the nav upgrade with the entune suite that FLTrucks sells and sold my EAP unit. I wanted the nav, entune suite and to be able to pull weather data from my phone as well as the HD signal since it is weak in my area. Also fully plug and play. 15 minute swap.

This is way off topic, but I am going to go with an aftermarket head unit once the aftermarket gets on the ball and develops a harness adapter. I am done with the factory HU!

In 2012 and 2013 there was either Entune with all the apps or nothing. No in-between/weird names for it. In 2012 the basic radio was the old style, non touch screen....then in 2013 they offered a basic touch screen but still if you got Entune it was the full thing. Not sure if there was even an option to get nav without JBL when I got mine.

    Me too!

I don't think you did. Now there are 4 levels and they call all of them entune, but only two have entune apps. Way to confuse the consumer Toyota.

My '14 Scion XB also has the outside temp feature. However, it is WRONG. It seems to be hood temperature....as in with the sun and engine heat included. It's only acurate when you first start the car on a cool morning. You are missing nothing.

If I am sitting still mine will show a rise in temp but as soon as I move the temp levels out with the air moving over the sensor.

The HD Radio Outside temperature is worthless! Even if you get the outside temp, it is inaccurate, outdated and for a different city! I talked with the dealership, and they are of no help. So, that's what I did! A new console arrived in the mail today. My 2014 already has the temperature sensor in the front of the vehicle, so I thought it would be a snap to swap units (but I would have to deal with adding the microphone back in. No such luck! The cable in the roof liner is a 14pin connector with 3 wires; the replacement console has a 10-pin connector with 8 wires [all black]. Does anyone know if this can be done? Does anyone have a wiring diagram so this can be figured out? I miss my overhead console from my 2005!

Only the 2014 Tacoma Special Edition retained the HomeLink Mirror with outside temperature gauge. The only place to find outside temp on other models is in the navigation system under the Weather tab.

Do a search for Auto-dimming mirror. many 2014 owners have bought an older temperature displaying unit and run the wiring from the temp sensor.

That should read: run a wire for an additional temp sensor. There is no known way to use the factory temp sensor, at least that I have read...

I think Toyota is trying to force people to upgrade by not including basic things like auto dimming mirror and Homelink. I can understand if you buy a stripped down model but not a TRD DCSB. Until I started reading some ot these threads I thought all 2013 TRDs had Homelink. I guess Homelink was a little bonus on the Baja. I am use to it now. Next time I buy if there is no Homelink, heated mirrors, and bed light it might be bye bye Tacoma.

My 2013 has the temp in the mirror, no Homelink. The lack of heated mirrors is a real pain in the butt and a very big mistake for it not to be an option. Mine has every option you can get including the NAV/JBL and not to have heated mirrors or seats at 31K is nuts. One of the many reasons it is for sale. Went and bought a 2008 4Runner that has it all.

I agree that a $35K truck should have heated mirrors but it didn't influence my decision on buying my truck. I wish it had them though.

    not yet....
I recently got a survey from Toyota after buying a 2014 DCLB. I absolutely crushed them on the lack of a temp gauge. I reminded them that bridges and overpasses freeze at 36 degrees and a temp gauge is a safety feature in cold climate regions. I mentioned that at a > 30K vehicle should have such standard features, not options. I'm not holding my breath on a response. ( I do love my truck though )

Has the world gotten that soft that we need a temperature guage to tell us that theres the potential for ice? I grew up in Colorado and all those years I had a car with heated mirrors I used them once. Sure it sucks the truck doesn't have those two items, but to not buy it or sell it (not paying any attention to what your purchasing) because of the lack of them, just sounds stupid.

Honestly, I think the point is that Toyota knows that they can start ditching items that "should" be and are features on previous year Tacomas and most other cars. Yes, bad on us if we missed it when we purchased. I know that I just assumed I hadn't found the proper sequence of buttons that would allow it to be displayed somewhere on the instrument cluster or something. Every other car I have had in the last 10 years has had the temp displayed somewhere...
Toyota has gotten to the point that it doesn't matter what they put in them, people will buy them anyway! So, why shouldn't they take off as much as they can get away with, that's a great way to treat customers...
I'm not going to sell my truck, I am going to over come Toyota's deliberate short comings in whatever way I can and I think that Toyota should know that their actions are noticed and not appreciated. Good on ya if you can get Toyota to take notice and help in the process of fixing those short comings.

It displays the broadcasted temp, not the actual temp where you are.
