2014 tacoma personal lights

Hey guys I have a 2014 Toyota tacoma access cab. I have an issue where only my rear dome light will turn on with doors but my forward personal lights won’t. I can still turn them on by pushing them in like any other Toyota interior light but I want to know if it is possible to set them to a door mode

 

No, Toyota for some reason didn't think anyone would want them to come on with the dome light and so they didn't wire them to.
Many people mod them to come on with the dome light but involves running a wire from the dome light to the map lights, moving a pin on the map light connector, and adding a pin to the map light connector or soldering the wire to the map light pin.

 

another option is Meso Customs lights. They’re very bright and offer a dual version with red and white.
With it set to activate when the door opens it gives you enough light from the rear unit.

there’s also VLED footwell lighting kit that I believe comes on with door opening. Mine are red, and set to dimmest while driving, and normal illumination with door open.

 

I have the VLEDS, live them great lighting in front footwells

 

Not from the factory, you’ll have to do the mod, but it’s easy.
