If it is not shown when you press the "apps" button then I am pretty sure you don't have it.

Curious as to how do you find out AFTER purchasing the Tacoma that some have navigation and now it turns out you MUST HAVE it?

Here are various punctuation marks, they are a must have for proper written communication: . , ! ?

You probably don't have built-in nav, but you can buy a Garmin or something.

A nice Garmin is a better choice than the OE unit anyway.

Free updates and portability make it a winner.

These are questions and answers you should be getting before walking out of the dealership...

Just because you have a huge screen doesn't mean you have navigation. Read your owners manual or the documents that came with the truck when you bought it. If it says it has navigation, but doesn't you should take it back. If it doesn't say anything about navigation and you wanted navigation thats on you unfortunately.

If it did there would be a Nav slot above the 57091 number to the lower right. Inside would be a SD card with all the maps. Have one in mine and it’s basically junk as you have to buy an update map card from Toyota $$$ or off eBay. Go as the other guys said and buy a Garmin with free map updates, better maps and traffic systems.

Well as a long distance truck driver I love having GPS I was planning on bringing my Garmin over from my semi but I would love to have integrated GPS into the dash i was just messing around with reading the user manual it's my first Tacoma and wanted to learn about the truck but this is probably a dumb question are the newer dash screens compatible for a plug and play type swap or would re wiring be needed

I think you would have to swap to an aftermarket head unit

Might be able to swap in a Nav-enabled unit from the same year Tacoma by just plugging it in, but not sure where the GPS antenna is and whether you would need that. Somebody on here has probably done that swap, search around or create a new thread in the 2nd Gen section and ask.

Not worth the trouble for the crappy stock nav system IMO. If you're gonna bother swapping at all might as well go aftermarket

I think with the trouble involved of swapping to a 3rd gen HU. You're better off just going aftermarket that way you can truly go with something you will make the best use of.
