    Howdy Folks,

A little assistance with value. Unfortunately, 2 weeks ago a young girl (19) pulled an illegal U - Turn right in front of me and despite an aggressive avoidance maneuver I hit her left fender with the right corner of my Taco. Lot of headlight and right fender damage along with quite a bit of front end damage, split lower control arm, etc. Toyota dealership put the repair at $15,000. I am concerned about the insurance (state farm) declaring the truck a total loss which I have heard is usually around 70% of the value. Which is why I am asking for a little guidance as to good sources to use to get a valuation on the truck. I'll do the usual KBB, but I would like to have more than one source to use to fight the insurance with. It's had all Toyota maintenance, is in pristine condition and 2014 is the last year they made the T - Force model. Appreciate any advice / information you all have.

    P. B.

Go to your bank and talk with a loan officer. They will tell you exactly what the value is for your yr.

It will be lower than a private party sale however.

I have State Farm. They will adjust the 'cash' value of the vehicle based on condition and money you might have put into it. If you have an immaculate truck, make sure you show them pictures. Also, if you have recently had significant work done to it (paint/body/mechanical), make sure you tell them that. If you have new or newer tires, tell them. I had a Highlander totaled recently and I received significant credits for recent paint/body and tires. If you can find a truck like yours (same year/model) in same condition that sold for higher than the cash value they determine, they will look at that as well.
