Does it include a brake controller, or do I need to purchase one separately? I see none mentioned in any literature so I assume Toyota doesn't include it.

Truck is a TRD Sport, if that matters ...

Not included, would be cheaper to get one aftermarket anyways.

There is a factory connector behind the drivers kick panel, your truck should have included the harness that connects to this connector and your brake controller. Makes for a very easy install!

I found this connector on my new factory 2014, but it is already connected to another connector. I am assuming it runs to the rear, but I cannot utilize it for my brake controller. Even the factory cable/plug that came with the truck matches this connector as well as my brake controller interface. Why is this like this in 2014 and what to do ??? Thks.

I don't think you've located the correct connector. There's nothing Toyota supplies that would plug into it unless someone plugged in the pigtail from the glove compartment. In which case, it would terminate a couple of feet away. Check carefully for a like connector nearby. The one on my truck was hard to locate.

There are a couple of trailer brake controller companies that make plug and play harnesses for their controllers that plug directly into the Toyota connector. I used the one from Hayes and it made it simple.
