I picked up my 2014 TRD Off Road today. I must say I wish could have found one set up this way in a 2013 model. No temp display, no HD radio in my area to help with the weather app. Also no compass or auto dimming mirror. And they changed the TRD graphics on the side. I like the old ones better.

I'm just going to throw this out there, and I will probably get flamed for it. Those that are complaining saying they feel like they were "juked." If something as small as not having an auto dimmer mirror (mind you I have never seen an auto dimmer mirror actually dim due to the rear privacy glass) is going to get you riled up. To the point where you are arguing that it has it in the brochure, but it is not featured in the truck. Should have checked every single item on the brochure because, well, sometimes they are wrong.

Yeah... Kind of my point also... I just don't get it. Contacting the Attorney General about a mirror??? I would love to see his face. Like I said before, I wish that is was the worst thing that I have to worry about.

    Some stuff...
My 2013 has the auto-dimming mirror, but no Entunes Premium. Give and take between each model year I guess.

Ok I can see why people want this mirror since it has BOTH the outside temp and autodim rear mirror, not to mention other goodies. I have the autodim on my car and I hate it. The outside temp, which I like, is in a separate place. We are in the market for a new DC and I am getting the TRD OR. I can deal with the lack of outside temp just so I DONT have the autodim mirror. I can also live without the compass and homelink. Different strokes I guess..

The rule of the game is if its on the sticker, it better be on the vehicle. Period.

I'm not complaining, I knew about it ahead of time (thanks to this thread), but over all I like the 13's better. I bought a '13 TRD Sport Access Cab in January but misjudged how much space a car seat actually needs, so after 17k miles I traded it in for a '14 TRD Off Road Double Cab. I could have bought one of the '13 double cabs they had on the lot, but I was very specific about what I wanted, and finding a '13 set up this wat this late in the year would be damn near impossible. (Off Road double cab in spruce mica with a manual trans).

TL;DR I'm not mad, just disappointed. Haha

Yeah that would probably be hard to find in a 13 still sitting on the lot.

I just thought it was funny (sad actually) that someone was actually threatening to write the attorney general because it was in a brochure.

Went from 2010 TRD Sport to 2014 Limited. Bought sight unseen expecting an improved truck.

Disappointed with the lack of features in a so called Limited model. Were is the outside temp gauge, rain sensing wipers, upgraded carpet, upgraded dash.

Plastic is poor quality, nav system is lousy, carpeting of much lower quality, no increase in MPG in how many years, rubber around doors cheaper (more noise), missing items from what was advertised on canadian website. They changed the website a couple of weeks after I responded to their survey for new owners.

Well... First things first. Welcome to TW!

Now with that said... I don't have a lot of sympathy for you if you didn't do your research and you actually purchased the truck sight unseen. In no way shape or form would I ever do that. Just a tiny bit of research would have led you to the answers that you are complaining about.

My interior is very nice in my opinion for a truck. I really like the Nav system. Upgraded carpet??? What did you want shag? Complaining about the MPG's and you knew (or should have had you done your homework) that the MPG's are relatively the same although I regularly get 22-23 MPG.

Not exactly the way I would have introduced myself to TW but Welcome anyway ;)

Every car manufacturer cuts corners. Consumers pay top dollar for new models and materials continue to get cheaper. Have you ever been in a Lexus? Toyota's luxury line. Nothing special in those either.

I sorta have mixed feelings about how to react... I'm a real easy going type of guy, but after having my '13 TRD O/R I never knew how much I would love that temp/compass and auto-dim mirror. If it broke on my tomorrow I would have to get it fixed even if I had to pay for it myself. So even though a lot of you say it's no big deal, I personally would be pissed about not having it. Now feeling duped by the brochure? That's kinda foolish. It's a brochure, not a contract. And guess what, if it was that much of a problem, then why didn't you bring it up when taking delivery? And last, why didn't you buy a '13? There are plenty of them still available out there, just have to look for them.

    ^^This^^

The ONLY thing that matters is what is on the window sticker. There is plenty of information about this all over the internet not just here. I've got the temp gauge / compass / auto dimming mirror but that would not affect my purchase in the least. That said I do like my mirror and I'm glad I've got it but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker.

I just loved the dude that says he is going to contact the Attorney General .... I would love to see his reaction on that letter. Some people....

I'm pissed I don't have an outside temp sensor. The auto dimmin mirror is cool but it barely dims at all. I have to flip the mirror up anywa

I had the same empty feeling after searching for a few days for my temp display in my 14 trd. I was however to find eBay could solve it! Ordered a factory auto dim, with the homelink garage openers and temp and compass display. The guy sent the Toyota instructions with it. Looks like it comes from a tundra? It did plug right in to the empty plug in the headliner behind the overhead console. I had to run the temp sensor to the grille was all. Took $230 bucks and 20 minutes. Made me feel much better about my new truck.
