I just purchased the truck last week. Its a 14 DC TRD sport with 22,000 miles on it. Super clean truck, no mud, rust, scratches or dirt outside, underneath or inside. Love the truck, but today it decided to start sounding like a used bed at an hourly rate motel. Going to dig deeper into the issue tomorrow, but wondering if there is a common issue with the front end.

I found the TSB for the rear leafs and ran across random threads on hood squeak/loose spare tire and even radiator support mounts etc...While I haven't eliminated those as possibilities completely, I really think this is front end suspension. Attaching a short, poorly recorded video clip of the noise.

That sounds like a rubber to metal squeak, try silicone spray to isolate it. Like maybe a control arm or shock bushing. Good luck keep us informed......

My 2015 constantly did this. The dealer kept trying to blame it on my lift, I'd drop it off, they'd tell me it was the shock assembly (my lift), squeak would reappear a week later. I was always suspicious of the lower control arm bushings, I'd start there.

Checked it out this morning, and sprayed every bushing set one by one with PB Blaster. Started out with the lower strut mount, then sway bar, then UCA bushings..nothing changed..Then sprayed the lower control arm bushings and the noise went away, so usafx, it looks like your suspicion was dead on the money. Now to wait on the bushings to start moaning and groaning again, then to the dealer and let them pay for it. I just needed to know exactly what the cause was, so that I could assist them in getting it right.

Thanks for the information, and maybe this will help someone out in the future.

Guess I'm not as bad of a mechanic as I thought, I would specifically talk to your service tech not the advisor as I had too and point out the squeak. More than likely dirt got in there, bad bushing, etc. Just baffled me because my 08 and 11 never did it.

Granted, I did buy this truck used, but I can't see dirt being the issue. I believe its just poor bushing material.

Pic of underneath, looks like it has never been off the paved road

Also I would not use PB blaster, but something like white lightning or another lithium type grease as to not swell bushings/seals.

Yeah,I know what it can do to rubber bushings and thought about using silicone spray, but PB blaster will get into any crevice and it was just for diagnostic purposes. Anyone using a spray as an on-going treatment shouldn't use anything like wd-40, pb blaster etc.

I also have a 14 and about a week after I got it, it started to squeak. Even when I shut my back door it will squeak as it closes. Reminds me of a TJ taxi. I bought mine used also and it had 22k miles. hmm..

Just to eliminate the hood squeak, which I have with my truck, try this little test. With your truck sitting stationary, open the door and stand in the door opening and rock the truck as hard as you can. If it squeaks, then open the hood and prop it open. Repeat the shake process. If the noise dissapears, then its the adjustable rubber feet on the hood. If the noise persists, then its something else.

If it is the rubber feet on the hood, the only thing that I found that works is to put electrical tape on the feet and the contact points where the feet touch the truck. Ive tried all types of lubricants. None worked and some made it worse.

Ran across a thread that mentioned that as a cause some people had as a squeak, so I checked it before spraying any of the bushings. 100% the LCA bushings making the noise.

Mine started doing this this week with 14,000 miles on it. Although mine is probably dirt/mud related. But the hood squeak thing I didn't know about. Time to lube the bushings, I guess.

I'm planning on calling the dealer and setting up an appointment. If it were outside of warranty I would use a grease gun with a needle and inject the bushing. Truck sounds like D-Bo's bike...

Make sure you hold their hands and guide them and explain in detail where your noise is coming from. Otherwise theyll just say they cant replicate it and send you on your way.

Took it in Saturday to have them check it out. Now the truck is scheduled to go in at the end of the week. After they tried to tell me it was a strut, I asked them to take a closer look, along with explaining to them my opinion on what was actually making the noise. They ordered LCA bushings and sway bar bushings, so we will see if that fixes the issue. Fingers crossed..

I have a 2015 dclb with passenger side rear leaf squeak. With 13500 miles, I can't believe how this truck is starting to make so much noise. It is so maddening!

Good news is the front end squeak is gone. The dealer replaced the LCA bushings and all is good there. I guess that noise was masking the rear leaf squeak though. The leaf noise is barely noticeable though, so Ill deal with that another time.

My 2014 squeaks but I could swear its coming from the rear. Time to bust out the GoPro and take some vids from underneath the truck to pin point it.
