So I bought a 2014 Tacoma 2.7l and I’ve been fixing it up for the past month the VVT been giving me problems so I ended up paying someone to try and diagnose the problems. He showed me that he could manually turn on the VVT solenoid but the truck won’t turn it on while it’s running so he told me I need a new ecu/pcm/ecm don’t know which one the VVT is connected to any Help would be nice thanks

ECM is on the right, pretty unusual for them to fail.
If your planning on replacing it you need to match the part number on the ECM.
