    Hi folks,

I have been told that the TRD compressor kit doesn't fit for the 2014 models, is that true??
Reason why I am asking is that I am on the way to buy one and it would be da...d  if I couldn't fit the compressor...
If this is really true, does someone know when TRD will modify the kit to fit in the 2014 versions??

    Thanks
    Ralph

Are you talking about an actual air compressor or a supercharger?

Dafuq are you talking about? If it is the supercharger they only fit up to 2013. Its the same thing every year. They need to release the fit kit for the intercooler and intake, etc.. Just give it a little time I think it took about 4 months after my truck came out before it was available.

sorry for the confusion...I just know it as 'Roots compressor'...

It just would have been brilliant to get the Taco shipped to Germany including the kit....just to spare some shipping costs...on the other hand something else to look forward to....;)

At least I can be sure (?) that there will be a new kit on the long run...

    Many thanks!

I have been driving Off-Road competition 33 years ago when you still have been shitting in you pants...sorry....

I can understand that it might perhaps sound a bit funny...but instead of some real 'connesseurs' nobody in Europe thinks about a car when the name Tacoma is said...they will ask you if this is some mexican wrap or so...so please...appreciate sombody that is on the way to join the Tacoma club, ok?

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Why not order a 2013 with super charger (compressor), dealers still have 2013 and the 2014's really have no advances over 2013's? It would still be brand new truck with compressor. Either way, good luck, hope you get exactly what you want.

    thanks for the suggestion
    just
it must be a new vehicle
may not be registered before (customs and taxes)
will surely not get it exactly in the specs I want
still got some 2-3 month before I order it

I don't have a problem to wait for the kit...Africa teaches you patience

I haven't seen anything that says the 2014's have any thing new as far as emissions go, I think that was the delay for the 2013's compressor being released. I'm sure Toyota wants to sell those $5000 compressors to anybody that wants to spend the money.
How would you import your new Toyota? How much more does it cost to get a Tacoma vs a hilux? Sorry for the questions, I was just wondering.

ok ... first of all many thanks for the 'respect'... much appreciated...but really...I have been involved my whole life in all kinds of 4x4....even restored over a period of 6 years a Willys MB VIN number 01156 from 1942...

    to your question 'Nickel':

    - Toyota Germany imports only the 2.5D4D as an X-Tra Cab...for me out of question
    - there is no V6 available, an automatic not at all...
    - and mostly: the Hilux doesn't have doors for the rear bench...for German legislation and registration laws this is a truck...which means 23% customs...
    - a truck is not allowed to tow a trailer from Saturday 10pm until Sunday 10pm, same on public holidays...even if this a truck with a GVM of 3,5to
    - a Taco Access Cab with a Tonneau cover is registered as a passenger car with a large boot :)-)) and I would have to pay only 10% customs
    - that makes the whole decision quite easy...:)

    And besides all that:
I have been driving Diesel engines all my life...but Common Rail is absolutely nothing for me...I had to assess so many broken Common rail angines in the past 10 years...no, thank you.
Everything is ok as long as the sulphur in the Diesel is ok...and the fuel doesn't get too hot...those engines are just too sensitive for all kinds of cumbustion irregularities...

Petrol, supercharged, V6 (best possible dynamic ballance) .... that's the way to go...

I think that answers most of your questions.

I will go through JYC Europe and the vehicle will come via Canada.
I learned not to get involved in those stories...even perhaps a couple of Euro more expensive...but I will get it with all necessary homologation papers and a German registration...what I do afterwards - like the supercharger - is my 'baby'...

I wasnt even born then lol. If youve got a few months to wait the kit should be out by then. I wish I knew that I could have financed my supercharger with the truck when I originally bought it instead of throwing the 5gs at it all at once :(

U can't finance the blower anymore per TRD and Toyota negotiations from what i remember reading.
U can get a used truck with the blower previously installed, but cannot finance a supercharger with a new truck.

the fit kit and the supercharger are the same as the 2013's, what you have to wait for is the ECU reflash for the 2014's.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
its a federal deal because TRD is only approved as aftermarket, it would be more expensive for toyota to sell it as OEM, lots more testing and fees to pay.

So the good ol' govt says your not allowed to finance the vehicle and the aftermarket on the same loan.

Obviously if a truck already or "already" has one it is ok.

I looked into it when i was shopping for my taco.

My 2003 trd edition corolla was the same way with the S/C

Too bad, it will be a few years before i can dump $3800 on a compressor :) for the taco

Actually you can. Regardless of what the TRD website says if you go to a dealer and tell them you want the SC installed as an "option" before purchasing the truck, you can finance it with the same loan. I'm sure theyd be glad to accommodate you for an extra $5000. I called the dealership I bought my truck from when I was looking for my SC and they told me they could have installed it as a "package" with the truck and financed together..
