I know some of the older trucks have a leaf spring recall, I have noticed my 14 doesnt have the strongest springs either. Once i load it with scuba gear the springs have a negative arch and it regularly hits the bump stops... I also plan to add a shell, which i know will only exasperate the problem. That being said what is the best method to allow the truck to accomidate a load in the bed without breaking the bank? I also dont want to add a lift to it due to some of the tanks being heavy and me having a short stature.

Btw toyota should make a dclb stick shift

The leaves are nearly flat right off the assembly line and it has nothing to do with bad leafs it is simple geometry. Look at where your front hangar is, rear shackle is and connect those two points together by routing over the top of the axle...it is nearly a straight line. When a leaf pack has such little arch in it it is going to be soft because the arch is what provides the spring in the leaf. The recall is for structurally defective leafs that break not a new leaf pack that is magically more arched and higher capacity.

As mentioned above air bags or air shocks are the only way to increase weight capacity.
