2014 Wet Okole GB - ended

For the Hawaii guys in here...I went to get my covers installed today at the Honolulu store and I was told that I was going to get charged $50 ($25 for each row) for installation, as she stated that it wasn't promised in this GB. I'm a little under the weather and just didn't want to cause a scene, so I told them that I'll just pick it up and install myself at home because I didn't want to pay for the install. As I was walking to my truck with the covers, their manager stopped me and told me that he wasn't going to charge me (even though the girl inside was ready to do so) and was only gonna charge me if he ran into problems. He reiterated that the installation was not promised and that they weren't obligated to do so, but they were gonna do it for me anyway as I guess a "favor". He ended up installing it anyways and luckily did not run into problems, but I just wanted to give the Hawaii guys that didn't get their covers yet a heads up. Watch out for them charging you, as I don't really know what the deal is, whether or not the installation was free. If they had match the offer, I would have bought local, but aren't they the same company? Seems like they were a little salty but it doesn't matter. Got my seat covers and looking forward to my next mod. Aurite!!!

 

Sucks bro. I went to the CA store yesterday and no mention of charge. Those guys were quick so I tipped them $20 to split between the two gentlemen.

 

Finally had time to put mine in. Took my seats out, not sure how anyone is able to otherwise.
Driver's side has crease in it and I didn't get my bottle of cleaner that was supposed to come with it.
I'm very pleased with them though.

A couple of pics here on my install.

First is to compare the looks of the factory seats with the looks of the Wet Okoles.



Not only am I thrilled to be able to jump in my truck and go when I'm wiped after skiing, kayaking, surfing, backpacking without having to worry about ruining my seats, I think they actually improved the looks of my truck.

You got yours already? How did they contact you? Starting to get worried that my order didn't go through.

 

Wet Okole Hawaii contacted me by phone the day the covers came in. I know this because I called the CA number to check on the status and have stated it would arrive on Friday, the day they called me for install/pickup. If you got an invoice, everything should be good to go and you can actually check the status on the Wet Okole website. However, it won't show tracking information if you are having it sent to the Honolulu store. If not, I would try calling the CA office to find out what's going on.

 

I didn't get an invoice. Did they email it to you? I thought since we r getting it shipped to the store we weren't getting one.

 

I didn't get one originally but it was only because the lady got my email wrong. As far as I know, everyone gets one. You might want to try calling.

 

I can't wait to see all the photos once Monday rolls around.

Installed both sets of covers today. The Tacoma's were so much easier that the Tundra.
Tacoma, of course my wife had to add pink!




Tundra these added some much needed contrast to the boring tan.

 

I never got an invoice either. I had to call the CA store 4 times, then they finally told me that they do not send invoices to Hawaii customers. I did get the invoice number though.

Good to know about the install charge. I figured that the install was not going to be free for Hawaii people. I called the HI store regarding the group buy, and it seems like they do not like the fact that these group buys take place.

All in all, I'm still waiting to get my covers (ordered on Feb 18th), and I won't begin to talk about my experience with Wet Okole so far. For sure I won't be purchasing anything from them in the future. Just not worth the hassle, and it's ironic that a company that has "Hawaii" in their name treats Hawaii peeps like 2nd class.

Do u happen to know when it got shipped out? I called today and she said it got shipped on the 18th. But she couldn't give a date when it would arrive.
