    Hey All,

I'm lucky enough to have 3 vehicles at my disposal. My Tacoma is mostly used for "truck" things now a days instead of daily driving. That's what the Corolla is for!

In need of tires and looking to move on from the tonka truck look. I've scoured through all posts regarding the 235 debate. For me, it's less about MPG loss and more about performance while loaded. Right now, when I'm driving the truck I'm usually hauling something in the bed (snowmobile, load of dirt, heavy tools etc.). It sounds like the 235/75/15 can affect your highway performance (especially with a load).

With that in mind would you guys recommend I go with the 225 and call it a day? Seems like it would be a happy medium. The compromise with the 225/75/15 is the selection is GREATLY limited compared to the 235/75/15. If I went 225/75/15 I may consider the Toyo Extensa A/S II. Should work ok for my purposes, I'm not offroading. There's not many other options in the 225/75/15 size aside from Open Countrys and a few others.

If I was daily driving this unloaded I would probably go for the 235. I know once I load my snowmobile up and take a 500 mile drive the last thing I want is to be stuck between 4th and 5th gear more than I am now :)

    Thanks guys!

i mean a 235 is a more common tire incase you run into issues. thought they are really pretty close to the same size

225/75/15 is 28.3in vs the 235/75/15 which is 28.9 in... so half in difference in height

did some of this weird math with a Hyundai Santa fe and my Subaru Baja who both are factory equipped with 225/70 16 from the factory, and now the Hyundai is wearing a 235/75 15,

here ill use this handy tool here [IMG]

I had looked at that comparison tool and thought the differences were a little bigger. They are pretty close in size. That's a good point on the availability in case I were to run into some trouble. 225/75/15 is definitely not common.
