I wanted to keep the stock look. I like the touch screen. And the sterring wheel controls.

Both harnesses came in the mail today and both look right, all wires match up. Hope they match up to the radio. Fingers crossed that the rest of the stuff shows up before the weekend so I can get started.

I did the wiring yesterday. Everything went in with out any issues. But I'm getting a hum from the radio now. I did run the RCA in the same track as the power. And I just stuffed the loc up behind the stereo. I used the stereo ground for the loc and grounded the orange/black for the radio lights to the stereo. I grounded the amp and sub the the seat mounts under each seat.

I'm going to back track and move the power to a different location. And move the loc up under the drivers side by my feet. If this does not solve the hum I'm at a loss.

Today I am going to try and install the speakers too.

Make sure to scrape the area good where you connect the ground, there is usually some type of clear coat on the body that you need to take off to get a good ground connection. I did run my signal cable down the passenger side and the power down the driver side, no noise issues.

The hum is difficult to diagnose. I had the same issue with my truck at first. I noticed if you have speaker running close to the power cables it can create an issue. Once I isolated the speaker wire from power and manipulated some settings on the line controller it was resolved. Good luck with it!

I did find that. I guess it's a ground so I grounded it to the stereo groun . Works.

Nice. I actually have not done it yet. I am going to take the stereo out today to resolve that. What wire did you jump to get the buttons to illuminate with the lights on? I have seen far more complicated processes on this forum.

I just put it with the black wire ground on the harness.

I swapped out the RCA cables. But I'm still getting a slight hum from the amp. And the sub makes a nice pop when I start the truck. I think the grounds are the problem. I have them both on the front bolts that hold the seat to the truck. I'm thinking maybe it's not the best place ? But I don't see anything else that's close. And suggestions ?

I have the same pop of the amp. I used 4 gauge wiring and made sure it was grounded properly. The hum is gone in my system but I isolated the speaker wire from the power. I ran power down the driver side, a 9 wire cable up the through the center and all the speaker wire on the passenger side. My hum was from the output on the controller. I swapped RCAs for another reason and didn't notice much of a difference either way.

I have everything installed now. I will work on the hum over the next week. I still need to adjust the sound settings. I'm getting a lot of low end coming from the speakers. But everything is sounding good very pleased with the results. The amp fit nice under the passenger seat. And the sub worked great under the drivers seat.

Driving to work this morning I was thinking... I have blower vents under my seats. And I live in a location where heat is needed in the morning 8 out of 12 months of the year. Any thoughts on if that extra heat on the amp and sub will have Ill effects ?

Some guys disconnected theirs vents and some completely cover them.

IMO, Your equipment will be at ambient temperature and only get really hot if you run it hard or run it for long periods with no air flow. The equip is also designed to handle high temps.
I mounted my equipment on 1/4" thick square feet that still allows the air to exit the vents. When venting the floors I use more air flow with a lower temp rather than hot air with a lower flow from the A/C. As long as I don't create big temperature swings and keep the consistent heater use reasonable I don't think it will be an issue. I think over time it may cause some wear and tear on the equipment but try to get the equipment off the floor and mounted in a way to keep the vent restriction limited. I figured this would be best case and if something dies I'll get another one.

Both the amp and the sub are such a tight fit I couldn't lift them off the floor. I will keep them as they are for now next fall winter I will re think it when I have the heat cranked.

I spent all evening trying to figure out where the hum is coming from. What I have found is... the hum is gone when I remove the RCA from the LOC. Or when the radio has no audio input. So I think the issue is in the headunit or before the LOC. I checked all my wires nothing was a miss there. So maybe it's something I can't remove unless I add a piece of equipment to filter out that single ?

After I inverted the underseat connectors everything fit ok.

I had a loud hiss noise before I added the LC7i LOC. Using radio straight to new speakers there was a horrible hiss at zero volume.

I added the LOC, input speaker level in and RCA out. Then turned all amp gains down to minimum and then used the LOC gains to raise the output level I had No noise at all. It completely went away. The LC7i seems to do its job very well.

I've heard of some guys adding resistors or noise filters in line to speakers to eliminate the hiss but I didn't need to do that and probably wouldn't. The are other DSP units that claim to reduce noise but I tried the LC7i and for $140 new it works great.

I am trying my had at an install i.e. new post 2015 Entune. Can you be more specific on which wire gets spliced to the black Metra wire for illumination, thanks.

On the radio side there is a orange/black wire that doesn't have a mate on the truck side harness. So I just bunched the orange black with the stereo ground black wire and wired that to the black wire for the ground To the truck harness.
