So I bought a new Duracell battery at SamsClub for 120.00
    3 year warranty...

What I gleaned from the Duracell book!

It reads...27F battery for V6 model / 24F Battery for the 4cylinder model...

I had a 24F in my V6... It's probably common and the norm for Toyota to put the smaller battery in trucks. Either way I spoke with the SAMs Club rep and told him if I was successful at getting the battery replaced for free at the dealership, I would be binging back the Duracell for a refund. He said that was not a problem. So that's the plan guys... I'll keep you posted.

Did you check the water in your old battery? Was it low?

Two of the cells used about a shot glass each of distilled water. Not terrible but a little low.... Not sure how much that would affect performance....

    Pre symptoms for me...

    Hesitation at start...
Throttle would fall flat, then pickup speed and never really smooth. Like it was missing timing.

Dealer diagnosed it wrong and remapped my fuel module. It made it more responsive initially...

You left out the two-battery crowd ;) . For the price of a 31 Northstar battery, I wired and installed a 2nd battery. I can now install two Northstar batteries if I want, but I don't/wont.

    So this is what happened...

... Took it to my Toyota dealer and the service manager didn't even question it. I told him the battery died and I replaced it the previous day. He said they will test the old one and if it's bad they will replace it. He also said they would replace the fan blower if I could leave it for 2 hours. I said yes and also asked to have my oil changed. $86.00 dollars later and all that work done.
Seems like they were aware of the problem from what I can tell. Absolutely no questions about warranty or any situation that would cause the battery to expire early... It was replaced with an 84month 24F battery. I'm happy and don't care if it's a 27F, or Interstate, or NorthStar, or supermegaCCA battery.

Thank you to all who gave insight and experience on what to get. Once again proving how great this forum is, and what a resource we can be to each other when we need direction...

Batt. & blower motor under warranty? Does that means the oil change was $86.00? Anytime you get out of a dealer for less than $100.00, you did OK. Glad it all worked out
