It was all warranty work except for the oil change, tire rotation, brake insp/adj and fluid check. Buncha BS if you ask me.... I get an oil change flyer for my Dodge Ram from the local dealer for 30 bucks every other month. Add 10 bucks if you want synthetic...

It's ok, I'm good with the oil change price for now.

Yeah, it's a dealer, I'm sorry "stealer" what we should expect. I'm kind'f happy when warranty runs out, I know I won't need to go back to them.

CCA is a bit of an antiquated measurement now a days. RC is a more important measurement now because of all the electronics and accessories as part of vehicles and added by the driver.

Should be 27f if you have tow package. If you dont have tow package you get the girlie 24f battery.

Costco is basically breaking even on the deal and using it as a loss-leader to get people to join Costco as well as one of the most popular Costco benefits, IMO.

Not only is the deal they offer unbeatable, they don't even offer the lowest quality tier Interstate offers, at least they didn't for an Accord and a '07 2nd gen. Both batteries had shockingly low prices when I was shopping around.

The suggest retail price of the battery for my 2nd gen is $131 while the exact same battery is $90 at Costco. They say there is a $15 core charge but they've never actually charged it to me. Might just be my Costco though as it was the same guy both times in a small side shop they have attached to the main store. Regardless, I will be buying all my batteries from them from now on. (No, I am not affiliated with them or profit by their success in any way.) Just really impressed by their aggressive battery pricing and would be crazy to go anywhere else considering the premium I would pay in doing so.

However, all of this is assuming you want an Interstate battery and don't have some use-case that is unique.

Just curious and not trolling but all this battery stuff is fresh in my mind. Based on all the responses from all the friendly Taco owners here, I learned a few things doing my research.

There were $50.00 dollar batteries at Walmart. They only had a 1 year warranty and minimal CCA. Might that be what the cheaper battery prices are for?

To me they all seemed competitively priced as far as the "general" batteries are concerned.

The pictures show a Toyota batt., & it really looks like 575 cca, that seems kind'f low end. The high end 24F, should have 700 to 800cca, the mid range 24F should have 600 to 700cca, & the low end will be less than 600cca. Most Co.,s will normally have 3 levels & that's, roughly, what they will be. I'm surprised the "Toyota" batt. is rated this low.

I have a 15 trd sport with a 27f, original. still going. costco doesn't sell the 27f so it's toyota or autozone that I know of unless you want a 400.00 battery, sears is gone here.
I also have a spare toyota 27f that I got for nothing but won't charge.

I called the westside costco and was told they have it, 90 w /tax. I drove the 50+ miles and got one. tested it and was 768 cca. 42 month battery, if you need to replace they don't test. 42 months and it dies, new battery. unbeatable.

stealership would not honor the warranty on my dead spare.

That seems odd, I'd have thought anyone who sells batteries would have a 27F. Check to be sure they aren't just sold out?, the 27F is a very popular size. Our Wal-mart keep them on the shelf.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
To each their own, but I’ve been down the cheep battery road before. No thank you.
A few years ago I had bought inexpensive batteries to replace the OEM ones in a 3/4 ton diesel that needed two batteries. The batteries were secured with OEM tie downs. One of the batteries had both terminals ripped out of the battery. Battery acid was all over the engine bay and left me with a five mile hike to get into cell service. Battery was still secured and hadn’t moved the terminals just came apart. Ever since then I pay for good batteries. Now, I drive on washboard / pot hole logging roads for my job. On pavement the battery might have been ok and lasted for a few years. As it was the battery lasted six months and the manufacturer refused the warranty due to “severe abuse”.

I wouldn't have thunk it, but it seems all WalMarts nor all Costco stock the 27F. I'd have thought all the Costcos & all the WalMarts would be pretty uniform, except for regional items. I guess not. $89.99 seems like a deal for a 27F, even if it is only 710 CCA, add doesn't show warranty except 36 mo., there's a big difference in 36mo. prorated warranty & a 36mo. free replacement warranty. but for $89.99 it still seems good.
