I have had my truck for 5 months and the feel of my brake peddle has changed. The brakes now seem overly sensitive. When I hit the brakes the peddle is real soft and then suddenly, BRAKES. It is most noticeable when driving slowly like in freeway traffic. My 2006 Honda Accord had the same problem from the day it was bought. Redid the front brakes which included new rotors, pads, cleaning and greasing the calipers, and a brake fluid flush. The brakes immediately felt right with the brake peddle giving a smooth feel through the entire pressing of the peddle. Don't know if it was the flush or caliper work that fixed it. Any thoughts?

I redid the brakes on my 06 Accord that had similar symptoms.

Sounds like a sticky caliper piston or guide pin, does it pull to one side before it grabs hard? Had a chevy chevette that was prone to the guide pins sticking, never knew for sure if the brakes were going to work when you needed them.

The dealer is going to say "You hit the brakes and the truck stops". I don't see a problem here. It's how the brakes stop the vehicle that matters. Anyone who has had this braking condition will know what I am referring to.

Fix it yourself. Take to dealer.

2 clear options and you don't want to do either but want opinions on what to do?

You COULD call your dealer and say it's stopping suddenly and it's a problem and they can fix it. Or you can call the dealer and, as you say, tell them when you hit the brake the truck stops moving.

Must have missed this post. Though I missed one.

    Live with it.
    Fix it yourself.
    Let the dealer fix it.

We can cross number one off without much fuss. Now you have to be willing to give the dealer benefit of the doubt, or don't and fix it yourself.

Try drinking a lot more water (or beer)... that usually works. :D

I think I know what you mean.. the brakes are a bit "grabby" and sensitive on my 2015 too. Try adjusting your seat position so that your knee is less bent. If you want to brake gradually, you pretty much just barely rest your foot on the pedal and it'll grab. No need to push down on the pedal unless you're trying to stop fast.

My 2015 is acting similar. I'm going to give it a little time though.

My brakes seem fine in my 2014. Different than my wife's Nissan and different than my old Dakota.

    Otherwise they seem fine.

So I noticed something similar immediately off of the lot on my new 2015. As you say, the range of pedal throw in which the brakes "grab" seemed abrupt to me. Having driven a few hundred miles either it has gotten less sensitive or I've adjusted my braking technique to compensate because I don't really notice it anymore.

Now I don't know if what I felt was a severe as your case and also it seems odd yours suddenly changed in behavior apparently becoming more "grabby" at some point compared to when you first bought the truck.

Its under warranty, take it in to the dealer. And I bet they will say its normal. No problem on my brake.

I was wondering the same thing about the brakes on my 2015 Tacoma Double Cab 2wd TRD Sport.
Almost feels like a warped brake when braking quickly on the highway. Is this normal? If so, ok I can adjust. I'm gonna have the dealer check it.
