Sarcasm+ humor. I assure you I am probably more fond of the elderly than I am of you. In general, and just sayin.

If that's the arguement......they probably should've never bought it in the first place.

Yes - you can still ditch it. If you do your homework, research your options financially...you can do it.
Sell it and downsize to something smaller and less costly. Do you enjoy sending that check every month for something you wished you didn't have?

I think a lot of complaints have to do with expectations. Customer satisfaction ratings are typically higher on, say a Hyundai, than a Jaguar. The typical Hyundai buyer (yeah, I know they're pretty good now and not just entry cars anymore) may be really happy compared to their previous used high-mileage Chevy Cavalier. The Jaguar owner expects perfection for the price. Older Toyota trucks were very good and lasted a long time. So anyone moving up to a new Taco may be coming into it after many years with the older truck, and is disappointed that the new one isn't much better for the price; certainly my 3rd gen is worse in several ways than my previous 3.4V6 T100. Whereas the new Colorado/Canyon seems to be better in almost every way than it's predecessor.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha not much of a bath my ass. Go see what they offer you on trade I bet in the end the numbers will wash to losing a MINIMUM of 3k to 5k from what you paid. Sorry but I value 3 grand too much just to flush it down the toilet. Was at chevy dealer today. I won't entertain a trade on my turdgen but here's somebody who did (btw not a 2nd gen on the used lot to be found)

    This !!!!!
I have learned that there are too many reviews online that are paid reviewers . Most real reviews are from pissed off people that had or have a problem .

Most people researched, chose a product and then bought it and got what they expected .
How many who were happy felt a need to tell the world they did good ?

I can agree with that.... I had a 96 Tacoma and 2007 Tacoma. I still believe the 1st gen quality was much better than the 2007. The 2007 never let me down (aside from the whole frame thing....).

I'm a bit disappointed with Toyota in general. The reason I switched was because the lack of options. I'm older now and can afford better & nicer things. The reliability is still a concern - but having all the bells & whistles was a higher priority this time around. The Canyon certainly has more bells & whistles. If Toyota would've had all the same options bells & whistles as the Canyon, I'd be driving the Toyota.

When you can afford the bells & whistles ....it is much easier to swallow the reliability (if it sucks). I'm hoping that's not the case with this Canyon, but we'll have to wait and see. This will probably be the first vehicle I'll actually buy an extended warranty on. :)

How did most people "Research" if all the Reviews out there are by these So Called "Paid Reviewers"?

Yep, too many people get stuck in the sunk cost fallacy. Spent money is spent money. If you hate your vehicle the question is what it'll cost, either in stepping down or in ponying up more, to get what you want. Sell the current new vehicle and buy a 1-2yr old of what you think will be better. "I can't" is lame, it's a matter of course.

Though as you say, if someone's leveraged themselves so far that they literally can't afford to do anything, then perhaps they should learn from that lesson and not over-extend themselves in the future. If I cannot pay off a vehicle purchase in four years I'm looking at too much vehicle.

While there are certainly some paid reviewers you need to be careful of, and paid shills putting down a product on behalf of a competitor, there remain many honest people reviewing stuff they're happy with. I respectfully think you've overstating things quite a bit.

Me? I've written plenty of Amazon reviews to let folks know that something really is in fact good. I've written some poor reviews as well when stuff hasn't been good. Sort of my way of giving back to the "community" since others reviews have been so beneficial in my decision making.

I think you are onto something there, Toyota Trucks have always been Mediocre in most areas but the two things they excelled in was Fantastic Reliability and Resale. They are too deep into Kaizen now and the constant cost cutting eventually starts to diminish Quality, I think they need to spend some more time on QC again.

completely understandable. When I was at the dealer one day I test drove a 4runner for the hell of it since I love the looks of them.
Great SUV, same case for me, if I didn't need a bed would've bought one

if you can find youtube channels that you usually agree with or have similar opinions with can help.
I'm not a firearms guy but I love blades, sure you might know of thelateboyscout on youtube. Usually find his reviews very helpful for what blade I'm buying.

I did not say ALL are by paid reviewers . I said too many are. It does take time and thought to weed them out . I feel it is pretty easy to pick out the gleaming all is wonderful reviews as well as the this is a POS review. Sometimes best way to look at the review is as a sceptic , not looking to find people that agree with what you are hoping for .

I applaud you for this . Amazon may be an exception for a lot of reviews on the internet . I get emails from them all the time to review , and do give honest reviews for what I bought . What I do not like about them is they tend to lump reviews from a manufacturer to gather for similar product models . It is hard to tell if the review is about what I am looking at or not.

I love writing good reviews to praise service or quality product on Amazon, yelp and Google reviews.

Which can have bigger tires in stock suspension, the Colorado or taco? Focus on what's important around here, not all these issues...

I'm not a fan of the looks. The DEF tank looks like shit on them. I don't understand why they can find a place under the truck to put it rather than outside the passenger side frame.

And every one yelled OLD PEOPLE BUY THEM TOO!!!

Every reads whatever they want. Without thinking...

It's the exact same experience I had on my Colorado test drives. All my test drives were 2016's though. They had terrible sluggish/lag until floored. To the rug, I'd have to give the Colorado the edge in power. I also think they are a touch better on fuel consumption.

The three 2016 Taco's I test drove were noticeably better in the response dept. Two Sports, and one Limited.
