Actually, I think the article is pretty accurate. I definitely have to remember to duck my head to get in the Taco and not bump. Once inside, it's fine though.

I do think this truck is quieter than older versions by a bit though.

Not much of the original Colorado left in this thing:

The dealer I work at got it's second ZR2 in today, but the first with a diesel.

We haven't marked it up yet. My guess is it will be about 51k.:der:

For that price, you could buy a Silverado with better gas mileage.

Ouch! Prices for mid size trucks are getting out of hand. 40k for a Taco and now over 50k for a Colorado. Yikes.

And I guess the TRD Pro and ZR2 sell as quick as the dealer gets them, right? It's crazy to me but I will say $50K for a truck that is turn-key is probably better compared to what a fella might spend taking a SR5 or regular TRD, adding FOX/King/Icon suspension and good tires. So from that perspective you're getting a truck that you don't have to touch with a wrench and retain a factory warranty.

Said Colorado would've likely developed cam phaser malfunctions after 300,000 km. Book time for replacement is 16 hours (requires removing timing chain cover, which in turn requires removing oil pan, separating engine from transmission slightly, removing the front diff...)

Truck Trend has a few off-road flexing shots of the ZR2. Impressive compression travel in the rear axle, considering how high the ass end of the truck normally sits. Click on each picture for full-size:

Doesn't look like the sway bar will be quick-disconnectable. Removing one of the drop links will cause the bar to hit the tie rod at full flex:

The slotted cam bolt for the LCA might be more robust than the frame tabs Toyota uses.

ZR2 Bison prototype spied. Looks like the concept's front bumper made it to production, but the tire size will be stock ZR2. Click on each picture for full-size:

Rear bumper made it to production as well, with tubular corner guards:
