Looks like it would be fine as long as that roof rack can handle the weight

yea those base bars will be fine. The only thing is that you will need to ensure whatever tent you purchase is wide enough to span the spacing between the bars.

Make sure your topper can handle the weight. I cracked my shell on the first trip out. I now put mine on the cab portion of the truck and i see a slight bow of the yakima bars due to the weight. I have the Rainier so a pretty big tent though.

CVT is great. I called them yesterday morning because I finally decided I wasn't going to drive through bend for a trip and I needed it shipped instead. It was at my doorstep by mid day today.20150626_135852_zpszurqoo4b_6ab7a2b3874802e525548299320d55afec2410dc.jpg

I have had my Rainier on my snugtop many times with no issues. I used 4 bars to spread the weight.

Finally got to try out my Mt Shasta! Couldn't be happier! Rob at CVT helped with a few install questions, which was great.

Wondering if there is a tips/tricks or lessons learned thread for new RTT owners?!? Did a search and didn't find anything.

Forgot the window poles at home, woops! But at least everything stayed dry in the truck bed!

Tip- Keep the poles inside the tent, so you don't forget them. I did the same damn thing the first time out.

Youll find tips and tricks in the rtt thread.

I keep poles inside the tent

I also plan to find a Velcro solution for the anticondensation mat.

    Lighting is a common mod.

I also always change out the zipper cord for a piece of para cord, feels better.

    Yes, many months ago

i gave up on keeping the mat in place. nothing seemed to work. so now i just fold the mattress up, place the mat on top then close the tent. the mattress and mat stay on the bottom side when you open it, just flip them into place and you're done. too many times that stupid mat slid out halfway when i was opening or closing the tent...

I forgot to post pics. I mounted the awning and took it out for the weekend.

I talked to somebody at CVT that said they have a new, much better anti condensation mat coming out in mid August. I'm waiting for one instead of buying the old ones.
