That will be about 900-1000 lb in bed plus a similar amount on trailer (plus its weight). I'll also have at least one passenger in cab plus gear in back seat.

My truck is bone stock. Do I need helper springs? If so, what do you recommend?

I leave in a week, so I've got to get on this right away.

I would strongly recommend an air bag setup. Ride Rite or Air lift. Huge help with the extra weight and keeps your truck level. You'll still feel the weight, but at least you'll be able to keep it in a straight line and turn when you need to. $300-$350 and install is relatively easy.

Airbags. Firestone brand. Easy install and work fantastic.

Airbags would be great but if this was a load I'd be pulling often, I'd get a trailer that could haul all four bikes. Then you wouldn't even have to worry about it.

Unfortunately, buying a trailer of any size isn't an option. (I'm lucky to have access to a bike trailer for next week.) I usually only carry a maximum of 2 bikes at a time. This is a unique situation.

I'd get airbags myself unless it's a relatively short trip then maybe just deal with it for a weekend since this is a one off thing.

Airbags and daystar cradles or whatever the name is are on my short list for the taco.
