    Open spec and budget cap are opposite directions though , as I've said before , a more fair distribution of the wealth would solve pretty much all of the issues for the mid pack and back marker teams

    For the record I like the pictures just fine but I don't read the thread often enough to try to keep up with each post, so sometimes you're gonna get an omnibus reply from me. The 1959 reference is clearly wrong because the car is a 3-liter formula Lotus, so it has to be 1966 or newer. Whoever posted the photo you used was an idiot. Not you.

    Many years ago my mom was rear-ended at a stoplight by a semi. It smashed the back of her car flat as a pancake up to the rear window. Her seatback broke, laying her out flat in the vehicle. If there had been any secondary impacts she would have had no protection from seatbelt or airbags. (Thankfully there were none.) Moral: I'd rather have the seat keep me in place. (Sorry OZ about arguing in your place.)

    They generally reuse the chassis and monocoque unless it's a catastrophic accident
