Kirby's put in his time and I wouldn't blame him for trying his hand as an HC. If I were in his shoes I'd be eyeballing UCF or Houston or something to cut my teeth before going balls deep into a P5 program with major expectations.

I'm fine with all of that. If Richt stays and Eason keeps his commitment, Richt won't get the most out of him anyway.

Face it, Richt and his staff can't develop the talent they have.

I would even be ok with Pruitt taking over the HBC job. He seems to be developing his young defensive players pretty well.

If you don't believe me that Richt isn't getting the most out of the talent he recruits, look at 2008. Stafford, Moreno, green, Houston, Dent, Atkins, Curran, battle, Asher Allen, prince miller, Brandon Boykin, reshad jones, Clint Boling, Rambo, Commings, Walsh, Ellerbe, etc, etc, etc. all that NFL talent, and we lose 3 games?

Id rather use the "rebuilding" excuse.

It all starts at the top. He's ran through all his get out of jail free cards by getting rid of OCs and DCs. That has bought him extra time. Time's up.

The lack of a ST coach still pisses me off.

First, as far as ST coach goes - who should we get rid of? Can only have a certain amount of coaches on staff, so who goes? WR? RB? DB?
Everyone seems to forget our offense suffered a huge drop off after Bobo left... And then there are those who thought Ramsey was the second coming, which just goes to show that recruiting stars don't mean jack.
Be careful what you wish for...

So you want to continue to have a top 5 or 10 recruiting class year after year, be decent, and lose 2-3 games every year, missing the playoffs, and therefore a national title? Or be favored to win a VERY down SEC east for 3 years in a row and end up shitting the bed in every game that's not Charleston Southern? Come on, man. Yea, we can end up like Tennessee. Then, we could end up like Flordia. 1st year at UF and Mcelwain sewed up the SEC east before November. I could be wrong, but I think the point of playing is to win that big trophy at the end of the year. You have to admit it's getting embarrassing having top talent and still being 3rd or 4th best in your own damn conference.

I love Richt. I love what he stands for, how he handles shit off the field. How he is (supposedly) as a person. Unfortunately, none of that is winning National Titles. Or a conference title in the last 10 years. Hell, it's not even winning DIVISION titles anymore.

Yaaaaay, let's go to the Capitol one bowl again! We'll get lucky to even get to that bowl this year. There's no excuse for it.

Luckily, people with much more influence than me are starting to get tired of it, too, apparently.

All this discussion may not matter soon. http://georgia.247sports.com/Bolt/Bruce-Feldman-UGA-talking-about-moving-on-from-Richt-40752753

But in terms of the ST coach, how is it that other teams have them if we can only have so many staff members? What are other teams doing w/o? I wouldn't care as long as our ST's were playing good but they stink!

As far as winning the East we've underachieved in the past and that was with a weak UT and UF and they are headed back to be the powers of the East again and Richt still has only beaten them both mostly on down years having only beaten Florida 5 out of 15 times which wouldn't be too bad if they were all top years from them but they've beat us with very down years/teams.

Teams don't fear us. We're soft, inconsistent, and don't get much respect because of this. We get out coached frequently with lesser teams.

I do admire Richt as a man and even as a coach, I just don't think he has what it takes to coach in the SEC. I know we can do better, just have to have the right guy in place. But the university has to find and pay them. I'm no expert but I see lesser teams get coached up better so they're out there. I would love to see Richt stay and bring a NC but I just don't see it happening.

And on a kinda side note, I get tired of hearing people saying "knee jerk reaction" or " over reaction" in terms of Richt. I hear this all the time but it's been going on for years. How the hell is it a knee jerk when it has been happening go so long?

Imagine the powerhouse Saban would have had at GA....it would have been insane. They would have represented the East every year, a year after his arrival.

I'm glad we're on EST, I'd hate to have Gameday on at 7 am and games starting at 9
