Seems as though they leaned heavily on strength of schedule.

I watched some of the playoff show last night but it's hard to get into it with the way out season is going. I was surprised that Clemson got the top spot though.

As evidenced by the diarrhea fest in the thread last year, the playoff rankings are pretty much to create drama at this point.

Clemson #1 to keep LSU and the SEC bias at bay

    LSU at 2 see above

Ohio State gets in as reigning champ but at least they're acknowledging that it isn't looking like a world beater team.

BAMA at 4 to create drama for the LSU matchup, plus they're fluffing them in case they beat LSU and win out so the SEC can have a shot at a representative in the playoffs. If LSU wins it doesn't matter...they go to #1 and BAMA is out of the picture. Ole Miss isn't getting in even if they win out unless some other teams really screw up.

Florida isn't getting enough love, IMO, but I guess they have some weaknesses, too. Hell, if they win out and win the SEC then they're in.

Rudy at #5 is pure ratings Bologna.

Little late here, but skipping a game because you don't support a coach is the pettiest bullshit I've ever heard.

Also I agree with the current rankings aside from ND at 5. Also LSU doesn't necessarily jump Clemson with a win imo. Clemson's ranking is in their hands I think. If they play FSU close (I hope) they get jumped, if it's a blowout (my expectation) then they stay on top.

I hope we don't find out, but I'm willing to bet 1,000 internet points that if La State beats Alabama this weekend they'll be #1 in the next week's poll.

If you watched the show, Joey Galloway had it on point in my opinion. These ranking are like preseason ranking. They're bull shit that don't matter, the committee last year proved over and over again every week is a new ranking and teams can be wherever the hell they feel fit.

I understand and agree that you shouldn't project rankings but this whole idea of "if the season ended today, who would be in?" Is dumb... The season isn't ending today.

As for UF, I think they're where they deserve to be or possibly too high. I'll admit I'm biased but they're leading arguably the worst division in CFB (see here: http://www.sbnation.com/college-foo...est-sec-east-division-rankings-advanced-stats ) and their signature win is vs. a team that lost to Memphis...

Oh and FSU has the first chance to start the chaos. Go noles

The committee proved last year that this isn't like any other rankings. Teams can and will make drastic jumps and falls on a weekly basis regardless if a team ahead of them still wins. LSU will absolutely jump past Clemson with a win this weekend and Bama will probably go up to #2 with a win.

I didn't watch it since it's basically smoke and mirrors to get people all worked up until the final poll is released. I can see how they are positioning some teams for future arguement's sake, though.

I think their top 4, at this point in the season, would be the toughest to beat.

Well I heard some very interesting things today about the UGA staff. Can't say if this is true but it goes right into where I think our problems are. Everyone knows we've been labeled as soft. Well apparently it's has been on the local radio that the staff isn't getting along and it comes back to Pruitt and his personality in that he speaks his mind. So apparently he's not happy how things are being ran saying that the team is ran softly. Coming from being under Saban and Fisher that he sees a difference and has spoke up. If this is true then Richt needs to go for sure.

Good. I'm glad someone finally said it.

Just like a few years ago when Shawn Williams said the defense was soft. Then they came out and started body slamming people. I've tho th the program was soft for years. No killer instinct. Get a lead, they take their foot off the pedal. Shit like that Causes you to lose games.

Well I didn't hear this myself but apparently he said the whole program is not ran as tightly as what he's used to and doesn't like it. I just can't believe this hasn't been blasted in the media if it was on the radio as I've been told. It was my section manager that said he heard this who is a Tenn fan so he doesn't really care too much other than trying to rile us UGA fans up. I just wish I had heard the whole thing myself.

As a fan the only opinion the university cares about is your dollar. That's how we finally got rid of Mack. Stop rewarding a product you are not happy with. Once the big money donors start doing the same things will change.

GA is a school with loads of $$, and can get almost anyone they want. Maybe go after TCU or Baylor HC? ....or Swinney. Maybe Spurrier?
