So this has probably been hashed out before, but my OEM radio has started to reboot itself. Goes from the Toyota screen to the warning one then back for a while, pushing on the power button and holding it will make it go offline then back on after a few seconds, then it appears to start up with no audio but the nav map comes up. After about a few minutes it will reboot itself but always comes back to the nav screen. Can then get into general settings and hit the remove defaults and it comes back to life. Have done the Toyota radio update and it still does it occasionally, this is the second radio the truck has gone through first was under warranty. Looking at the salvage yards in the area the only thing I see are nav units out of 2016 and 2017, my question has anybody tried to install these in 2015 and down trucks, the hookups look the same but was wondering about the fit. And no not interested in aftermarket ones as they are basically cost prohibited in Canada, checked cruchfield and a nav one is north of $1500 plus the install kit. Plus the fact I am old school and old and still have a flip phone.

So nobody has tried to put a third gen radio into a second gen?
