2015 Off Road - LCA space

I was looking at my truck today and noticed that there was a space between the LCA and the mount. Didn't know if it was supposed to be like that or not. Both sides were like that

 

Normal. Nothing to worry about.

 

Well that is good to know. I went and looked at a 2018 on the lot and it didn't have space between the arm and the mount

The space that you see is actually built in to the internal metal sleeve of the rubber bushing. If you ever remove the LCA you'll notice it's not a spacer or anything that would otherwise shift or fall out. Not sure why Toyota designed it that way, but AFAIK all 2nd gens are like that- at least everyone that I've worked on.

Take the bolts out and put some anti-seize on the them. It’s a well known issue that that rust and seize up causing headaches and a large repair bill.
