just sayin I get 275 miles to the tank in my dc with 315/70/17 my rpm's are 2100 or so at 70 mph And 1800 at 60-65 which isn't to bad I never go above 70, after that mpgs are way worse.

I have just ridden in some tacos with 35s and no regear and it seems like it just takes so long to get up and going and the RPMs stay so high to get there, unless they punch it all the time and really go through gas. Would suck for me in the city driving to and from work in the stop and go traffic. Hell even with my 285s it takes a long time to "get em going" and shifting up to normal speed. I couldn't imagine my MPGs any worse than they are for some tires I don't use daily but that is just me.

Rick your truck is a lot lighter than mine so you should be alright.

first off did you cut your fenders?

I hate going over 65, with my 285/70/17s the rpms are roughly:
    -2000 @ 60
    -2300 @ 65
    -2500 @ 70

Maybe it is just all the extra weight I have that makes it so high and makes me leary of ever getting 35s

    Extra weight I have is:
-aluminum plate front bumper (not much weight)
    -steel HC rear
    -winch
    -sliders
    -front IFS skid
    -mid skid

I know a guy with 35s on a DCSB and with a steel front bumper, HC rear, front and rear lockers and a bedrack and a regear (can't remember what he geared to) he is only averaging 12 mpg.

I used to have an older model tundra (2002) and really wanted to get one of the newer ones but went with the taco instead because they had better MPGs. I think I get about the same if not worse than the tundy lol

It probably wouldn't hurt for you to regear because along with having the bigger tire's your adding extra weight with the heavier axles and the extra links for your four link set up. But there is a chance you'll be fine with what you have now when had 38's on my f150 I was running the stock 3.55 gears and that sonof a gun would straight up get it but I got like 6-8 mpg and the only time I ever got it stuck was a snapped a flange on my rear drive shaft

    I was joking, I'm either doing 4.88s or 5.13s. Haven't decided yet.

Wow 315! I didn't even get that with stock tires. I get roughly 250 I guess with my 285s. I do not speed at all. Drive pretty easy too so idk

315 was all the way on empty and you have a plate bumper so maybe that has something to do with it.
