So long time lurker, first time poster, thought I'd start up an account now that I'm starting to accessorize the taco. I've been doing a lot of searching regarding lift options and came across the OME N192S which was for the Tundra. From what I can tell, it looks to be the same as the Tacoma OME option, I'd just have to change top hats. The N192S has an extended length of 23.188" and collapsed length of 16.69". I've read of Tundra guys also running the 886 coil. I know this will be a stiffer option, but adding a winch and other accessories up front, I don't think that will be an issue. My thought process is by using this combination with a LR or TC UCA, I'd be able to have a little more up/down travel than the standard Billstein or OME lift .

    What do you guys think?

it would be intersting to see. Looks like the lower mount should be the same.

The concern i have is the collapsed lengths. the N140S (proper OME Tacoma strut) is 405mm The N192S is 424. Thats 19mm longer on the compressed side, which would translate into about 40mm less uptravel at the wheel, but you gain 46mm of down travel at the shock which would net about 90mm of downtravel at the wheel.

I would be worried about bottoming the shock before the bumpstop gets hit.

The OME 90000/90021 strut for the tacoma has a collapsed length of 413, so realisticly the N192S is all of 11mm longer on a collapsed length vs a strut made properly for the tacoma.

Some cycling of the suspension without a spring on would tell you real quick if you could afford the 11mm longer length. Worst case you could always extended the bump stops out with some washers.

Exactly what I was thinking. Straps and extended bump stops I'm pretty sure are a must, though I'm not too worried about them bottoming out, especially when you consider the billsteins are at 17.03 inches collapsed. Thought this might be a cheap alternative to more wheel travel.

I'll watch this thread like a hawk for more thoughts. Barring any for sure advice, I'll pick up a set and cycle the suspension and take a look see. Maybe try and find a used set first. Looks like the N192s's are being replaced so this may go nowhere or a used only mod.
