    I think he had some things to take care of. That would explain his absents and the extended challenge.

    True, but it's mostly because I'm working all the time. For the last couple of weeks all of my free time has been consumed by firewood. I'm doing three households plus the saphouse this year since my dad cut himself with the saw this spring and hasn't started cutting again yet. He usually cuts for himself & my uncle, and we tackle the saphouse together. I split my own by hand, but fortunately the 'rents have a woodsplitter for themselves, my uncle, and the saphouse, and my brother lives in town and can do the splitting through the week if I do the cutting on the weekends. But man...
    I'm going to look like the hulk by the end of this firewood season, haha!
