2015 pre-runner 2wd with Aisin trans trouble code P2757

Vehicle exhibits lurching when launching from a stop and erratic shifting behavior or non shifting behavior in 1-2 and 2-1 downshifts. Almost feels like vehicle is launching in 2nd gear. Suspecting solenoid that controls TCC behavior is defective or stuck in off position. Pulled trouble code P2757. This trans has 3 solenoids. seems 2 are identical and 1 is unique.

But I am wondering if there is some other possible electrical malfunction failure mode that I can check first before removing the pan, draining the fluid and going through the aggravation of checking whether the solenoids are properly energizing.

Also, I suspect I could do damage to my TCC if I drive this thing in this state of operation?
Trying to avoid dealer involvement as it runs into $$$.
