2015 Problem Drives forward in Reverse?

    Anyone else had a problem with their Tacoma being put into reverse and it driving forwards as if in drive. I'm a trucker out on the road and my fiance called me up with this today. Really hoping it's something simple. Can't really afford to tear apart a transmition right now. The problem fixed itself (for now) but now I'm worried. 140k on her. She's been a great truck but now again, I'm worried about those now.

    This happens when the transmission gets soooo hot that the foward clutch welds itself together .
    With this being said , some troubleshooting should be performed before jumping to conclusions like this .

    OK , good to know .
    I would be checking the gear shift linkage as well as the trans fluid when you return home .

    This time of year, lots of problems with the shift cable. It may not be going into reverse when put into drive because of rust, corrosion, cold, salt, etc.

    I may catch a lot of shit for this but someone has to say it. Is she POSITIVE she had it in reverse? I've read a lot of horror stories on here from guys that let their wife drive the truck lol.
