2015 Side mirror turn signals

How would I wire one of those from ebay if I have a 2010 non-sr5? No power in the mirrors

 

agree 100% I am lucky 2013 has it in the mirror. always usable. always looking at...the mirror.

 

Just run the power and ground wires up through the door. You'll have to tap into the blinker wires at the fuse box.

OK.... I just completed my order with Muth. I had sent a question through their website and got an email answer this morning. I remembered to ask if there was a discount code I could use, and yes, I got 15% off. The total including shipping came to $173.44 after the discount.

It remains to be seen whether I can install it without dismantling the whole damn door, but even if I do, they have an excellent pdf with photos on that operation. The mirrors are coming UPS Ground, so it'll be a while before I get back here with the answer to simple or more complicated install. AeroCooper has reported that the door dismantle is simple, so what the hey, I got my signals either way!

 

What was the code you used?

 

I didn't print the code because I wasn't sure it would work for everyone. The Email I sent was answered by Denise Myer in Customer Support. She said to enter her first name for 15% discount. Hope I don't get her in trouble, but the free publicity is probably worth a discount, though!

 

I tried it with 'Denise' and it gave a $29.90 discount. I backed out though when I saw $16.90 shipping for 2 mirrors.

 

I guess I am getting too old. The total dismantle of both doors and mirrors in order to mount, then run the wiring is pretty much a turn off for me. I had them on my last GW. Loved them there, but they were plug and play. Can't wait for a couple of you to report back on just how much of a PIA it was to install them. Good luck! Take lots of pictures.

I've installed them in a Tacoma twice, and it takes about 8 hours. So yeah, its a bit of a pain, but very worth it. The price kills me though.

 

In my 2010 and my 2013, but not the 2014...yet.

 

So... did you have forward facing signals in those mirrors?
I'm hoping I can access the wires directly behind the mirror without dismantling the units, which would require removal from the door.

In any case, I gotta do it because the restock fee is 25% plus shipping.
I guess it would have been smart to pop off the OEM mirror and take a look-see before placing my order!

 

The 2010 did not, the '13 did. As I stated above, I'm almost positive that you will have to disassemble the mirror to access the wires, which means taking the door panel off. The wires are quite small, but it is doable with a little patience.

I was also doing the heated mirror part at the same time though, so I had to disassemble everything anyway. I do recall that the blinker wires were small and kind of hard to get to, so I couldn't imagine trying to do it vertically on the truck.

One tip I will give for those who take the mirrors off - wrap a towel or big cloth under the mirror before taking it off to protect the paint on the mirror and on the door. Then use another towel on the work bench, no matter how careful you think you are going to be. They scratch really easily.
