New tacoma owner and member here. My Supercharged 6 speed is making a unnatural sound at higher RPM. Attached is a VIDEO. The clutch feels fine unless I reach high RPMs then I get this sound and when I hear this sound I believe I loose power or feel the engine unable to pull. I am wondering if anyone else with the supercharged package has had this issue. I can not tell if its a clutch slipping with the higher tork or a fuel problem. Thanks for any advice.

Negative, no waste gate. Only by pass valve.

I’ll link a post in the supercharger thread. Lots of good, informed dudes there. Not sure what’s happening but it seems to occur before redline, so it could be fuel delivery.

Do you have anymore info on other mods the truck has? Do you have any means to data log, or get info from the obd port?

Here are the mods I know of:

URD stage 3 clutch/ 18 lb lightweight flywheel
    Volant RAM AIR CAI.
PLX device multi gauge with boost sensor.
    Ultra Gauge
External fuel cell was added to the bed. I removed the cell and capped the fitting to the external tank. I noticed the issue before I removed the cell.

Do you get a sudden spike in AFR? Is it throwing any codes?

Loginfailed beat me to it. You're on the rev limiter , see the red line on your tach? That means "don't go there, it's bad for the engine" If you decide to see what happens anyway, the engine management computer is smart enough to start cutting the ignition and/or fuel.
Do you have any way to monitor your AFR? Not familiar with your particular setup, or how the bolt-on TDR system works, but air-fuel ratio is critical in a boosted engine. Too lean and parts start flying out from inside the motor, which can happen at rpm's well below redline.

Awsome info guys. Glad I posted. I was about to take it in thinking the worst. Ken. I have the PLX gauge and Ultra guage as well. I just purchased the truck so I have not had a chance to figure out the details of these devices. I will look into how to check the AFR.

    Little bit of stuff.
As was previously mentioned, that's the rev limiter. You're supposed to shift before that. Please, for the love of that beautiful truck, learn how to drive it properly.

Ya. I know how to drive properly. I do not drive like that normally. I was only demonstrating the issue.

Yes, if you notice the tachometer needle entering the red zone... That is roughly the maximum recommended RPM. The engine computer is protecting the engine by not allowing you to rev it any faster.

Try to shift gears a little bit before the tachometer reaches the red zone and everything will be fine.

Add a dedicated 02 sensor upstream of the cats and send the signal to a AFR gauge. You may be able to program a Scangauge to read it off the 'regular' 02 sensors via the OBD port. It should read 14.7 off boost and drop to around 11-11.5 under full boost.
