2015 taco 4x4 pulling the trigger.

I4 = inline 4 cylinder.

 

Got to the dealer and the truck wasant on site.
Really bummed.
Web said it was there.
Im gonna get the 6.Cause I know I'm gonna make it my toy.
Hate dealerships.....PITA.

 

V6's pass me all day. They "get there" (depending how far they travel) maybe 5 minutes ahead of me. I'd rather save the fuel and insurance costs (I'm cheap) but to each their own. Good luck with the purchase!

 

I do 60 MPH.. with or without V6.

If you are driving flat land the 4 is...OK. If you drive hills or tow get the 6, for sure.

If you're going to tow anything more than a river dinghy I'd go V6 for sure. FWIW, no tow package on any I4 trucks.

 

Not quite fair! My V-8 Tundra feels like a slug compared to my G-35 but the Tundra will pull my FJ-40 on a Trailer at 70mph where the G35 and your WRX would run for the hills and hide!

At those rpms it must have had 3.53 gears. 6lugs have 4.10 gears

Coming from a guy that had a 4, get the 6, you wont regret it. I regretting not getting a 6 soon as I drove up the first mountain pass headed home. So I sold that truck and bought an 04 with a 3.4 V6, not as powerful as the 4.0 but better than the 4 I had before. If you live in a flat area or only use the truck for driving back and forth to work, the 4 is perfect but highways with hills and passing are a different story. I didn't like passing trucks with that 4 cylinder at all, had to make sure I had a long straightaway with no cars ahead before I did it. Now I can just zip around big trucks with ease.

 

That was the main reason I went with the V6. The I4 really struggled on the hills around here and with the A/C on and 3 people in the cab, it didnt perform well at all.

 

Why not wait a few more months and see what the '16 has to offer?

You are correct, they don't negotiate much on price.

 

Good choice going with the 6. The capability is there if you need it. I pulled a cord of unseasoned firewood last weekend and though it was definitely working, it had no problem climbing the hills with it. That would have been beyond the tow rating of a 4-cyl.

 

I look at this way....
I need a daily driver.
If I get the platform I need I can
build on it as $ comes along.
Lord knows after the first scratch all bets
are off. And I'll make more scratches and memories.
