    Hey y’all

going to change out my front wheel bearings on my 15 Tacoma pre runner 2 wheel drive, seems very simple because I don’t have 4x4 so no CV stuff or anything up there, now my question is i can find the bearings with the hub assembly from timken or koyo (which I hope are good brands? Oem was $260 from dealer, these bearing assembly’s are $160)

but will I need any other part? I can’t find an accurate diagram for my truck online to see what else I may need, seals o rings gaskets etc etc? If so please hit me up with a diagram with part numbers for the other pieces I need! I’d appreciate that and any advice possible.. I’ll probably have a shop do the rears.

If your getting one that's pre-assembled you shouldn't need anything else providing everything comes apart as it should.

Keep researching. The bearing and hub are two parts that need to be pressed. Wheel studs and mounting bolts are usually sold separate. The actual act of changing the wheel bearing/hub combo is as easy as changing a tire.

I’m not sure if I need any seals or covers, that keep the bearing inside water tight and free from dirt and dust? All I was ordering was the actual bearing and hub assembly with four bolts already in place, not sure if I should be ordering any seals, o rings or gaskets? I can’t find a parts fische for my truck unfortunately haha I do however have the special bearing but tool I got to remove and install the big nut that holds the bearing inside the spindle at the back

No seals or dust covers/ o ring gaskets? Anything to keep bearing water and dust tight? Here’s a link to what I’m ordering, either koyo or timken I hear they’re the best for bearings, but you can see in the pics there is seals and stuff https://www.ebay.com/itm/161846832151

That looks like a kit that has to be assembled which will require a press, a spanner socket and a torque wrench. The bearings themselves are sealed, there may be an o-ring in the knuckle but I cant remember, someone else should know.

well the kit looks like it comes with a oil seal or something, hopefully they come with the bearing and hub pressed in, if not I do have a wheel bearing press kit I used on an other car of mine that pressed in bearings and hubs, then I can mount them up to the truck, does the four hole nut that comes on the back inside of these bearings bolt on after it’s in the spindle or before? I got the special Toyota socket to remove it with a torque wrench
