    Hello,
Here are some pictures of my Tacoma. Every thing checked out. No rust and transmission is fine. Dealer performed 45K miles service.

    Sorry for the duplicates.
Like I said, every thing checked out except one thing:
There is a distinctive smell in the car similar to Febreeze air freshener that I'm not very fond of. I hope it's not the mysterious New Car Smell. I cleaned the car myself using McGuire's Ultimate Interior and shampooed the carpet but that smell is still lingering.
Any ideas on what could that smell be and how to get rid of?
    Thanks

Check the cabin air filter, you can get to it from the back of the glove box.

If that smell came after the dealer service, they probably used frigi fresh when they replaced the cabin filter. Its used to clean the ducts.

    TLDR the whole thread...

The only transmission issue w the ‘15 is some Tacomas being shipped from the factory low on fluid. There’s specific procedures to check the level. Have the dealer put it in writing that yours is fine and you’re good to go.

Congrats @MrSocal . Great looking truck.

    Thank you all.
Unfortunately, the smell is getting worse and I get tired everytime I drive the Tacoma. The cabin filter is new and the dealer cleaned the A/C and it smells fine.
I feel there is a small exhaust leak seeping inside the cabin. Today, I put the recycle on and cracked the window, I did not feel as tired.
Toyota is resisting that there is an exhaust leak. Not sure where to go from here.
    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I live in Maryland, they salt the roads here. I bought my 15 back in September after a tree totalled my 04 V6 prerunner. The 04 was quite rusty mainly in the rear but probably normal after 17 years of not being treated, maybe washed, but I bought that used too and only had it a year. I spent a lot of time under it scraping off scale and re painting and sealing it followed by fluid film. Was still very solid. My dads 96 4 banger taco looks hideous underneath of it but sticking my finger inside the frame and smacking it with a hammer it still seems solid and drives fine. He beat the sh*t out of that truck and racked up over 400,000 milles and never washed it along with running a powerwashing business out of it. My new 15 has minor surface rust on the raised welded areas and a few bolt heads but that's really it. I coated it with Fluid Film for preventive measures and I'm sure with me keeping up on it yearly, it will be just fine. I never owned a newer vehicle before and I fell in love with this truck when I test drove it. 36k miles with a clean carfax as well. I just did a 6 year tune up and complete fluid change. Hope you enjoy yours!
