I picked up a 2015 Tacoma a few weeks ago and since I've had it, there is a slight vibration at speed (60+). The dealer balanced the front tires and it still does it. Been trying to get back to the dealer to have them try to locate it but I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem so I could limit my time waiting for them to figure it out.

I have a shuddering at 40-45 only in my 2015. The dealer performed some tests but couldn't figure it out. They asked that I bring the truck back in once the temperatures reach the 60's for further testing. In the meantime, they said I'm logged into their national database.

Are you feeling the vibration in the steering wheel or floorboard or seat or where?

It originally felt like the steering wheel before I brought it in the first time, but seems like more of the entire truck now. (they only balanced the front tires last time). And it does seem to be a wider range of speeds on various roads.

I do notice that if I hit a speed bump or bump at lower speeds sometimes it'll feel like there is a very slight slop in the steering wheel. I think I'll be dropping it off shortly, naturally at a different dealer than it was purchased from, so I am sure they wont find any problems.

It had 6 miles when I picked it up and had the issue.

Update, they had me drive with them because they didnt really feel it. Naturally, it wouldnt do it. The Asst Service manager said he did feel it during the original test drive but not again when I took it for a ride. The diagnostic mechanic who also went along figured it was just a frequency that was going to happen because of the wheelbase.

I've only felt it when riding alone, so possibly the extra weight was able to stop it from doing it. They are supposedly going to check out some other brand new ones before they are sold when they get them in stock to see if they can replicate it.

I have a 2015 with a slight intermittent vibration in the steering wheel, if I let off the gas pedal, it stops, so I'm thinking mechanical,,not a tire issue.

I too have a shimmy in the steering wheel of my 2015 Tacoma Limited, took to the dealer that I purchased it from, said Technician took it for a ride and didn't notice any problem, or did they say that their has been other reported issues....I notice it more when the truck sits overnight in a cool garage and then get less noticeable as it warms up after several miles, but it still is noticeable. seems like it need some sort of steering damper. Service department said there was mud inside the wheel.....This was a brand new truck with 7 miles on it and I wasn't even on a dirt road yet....take you for a fool...Its going back and if they can't resolve, it should be taken back as a LEMON. $35000 dollars for a truck and it shakes....

Mine does it between 75 and 80 mph. At 70 or 85 it's as smooth as butter. Reading Tacoma World before purchasing I knew that there would be some vibration so it's fine for now unless it gets horrific. Luckily I won't usually be going 75-80 as I don't want my mpg's to tank, so I'm not worried at all.

Mine does it right at 60mph when the truck tires are still cold. Once the tires warm up the shudder goes away. The shudder is in the steering wheel for me.

Mine does the same thing. Bought it with 2 miles. Didn't take it for a spin beforehand. Taking her back to the dealer for service this Saturday. What happened to Toyota quality? And this is my first Tacoma, my Tundra didn't vibrate, shake, or rattle. I'm hoping it's just needs to be balanced.

Well I've been fighting with Toyota for close to a year (since the day I bought it 11/14... with the same issue ( 2015 Tacoma vibration @ 35-45mph). At one point they relaced my torque converter. Balanced wheels, etc, etc. Removed and re-installed my drive shaft.
Got to the point I filed under the MA. lemon law. They denied my case because some yoyo from the factory said the vehicle performed as designed.
Toyota has been of no help at all. Now they don't even want to hear about it. As far as those of you who think they all do it, you don't now what you are speaking about!!.......I've owned 3 others that did not do this.
I have since test driven 5 other 2015's that did not do it either. They won't help with trading to a 2016 either. No one designs a vehicle to do this!
Was a loyal fan..poor product! I now wish I never purchased this vehicle. Looking at Fords or GM's now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this thread is still active, yes I have it too. 60 -65mph slight vibration. BUT, was worse. Stealership said they torqued all the spacers (BORA's) at last tire rotation, uh not ! Had a private shop pull the wheels - 5 of the 12 front bolts (nuts I should say) were "loose". So I had that plus the vibration. Now it's 110% better. Now I wish there was a solution to the bump steer. No one else in my family will drive it anymore because of that. Anyone know if a steering damper is available for 2015 ?? I have searched ad searched the net - nothing.

Any luck with this? I have a 2015 Tacoma long bed that gets a vibration < at highway speeds, like a tire is unbalanced. Anyone had luck with a steering damper or another fix?

I actually went to try and find this thread let night and got sidetracked.

I did find the solution. It was the needle bearing in the front diff.. you know, the one that Toyota has had complaints on for a decade.

I swapped it out with an ecgs(east coast gear supply) bushing and it drives like a Cadillac. I also gained 2mpg from losing all that parasitic drag.

There are some pictures in my build thread, maybe 4ish pages back from the last page. My needle bearing was actually shoved ALL the way into the diff and took a blind hole bearing puller to get it out (the special tool didn't work). With all the other problems on my truck, it was obviously put together by someone on their last day.

Thanks. Is this a DIY thing and what did you spend?

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/front-diff-vibes-ecgs-bushing-fix.464941/

    http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-8536125-toyota-8-clamshell-bushing-eliminates-needle-bearing.html

Can be DIY, pull the CV from the diff, pull the needle bearing out, put bushing in. Typically people change the diff fluid and the axle seal as well while they're in there.

They sell a tool, but the blind hole bearing puller also works. The tool is nice though when Toyota didn't install the crap bearing incorrectly like mine was.
