...I was thinking about this brake thing last night, not sure why.. But anyway, I've fussed with a lot of brakes. Putting more brake on the rear (which you could do with pads) would just change the bias, not the dive. While a little more bias towards the rear might help overall braking a bit, the risk is that you prematurely lock the rear before the fronts. Possibly that's why the truck exhibits early abs intervention... It sees the rears getting sloppy and it fixes it, which really isn't great. But... If your rears lock up first, and you aren't going totally straight, or if there is a little bump on one side, The back end will come out on you fast... And that's not any fun. The dive can really only be fixed with weight on the rear, or stiffer springs up front, I think. Not sure why everyone blames the drums... Not the worst thing in the he world, just annoying to work on.

Might be an embarrassment to Toyota, but we had a work tuck 2011 Ford Ranger, XLT, SuperCab, 2.3, Auto that had oem disc in the rear.

But seriously, it's not that big of a deal on the Tacoma, Toyota has mastered the art of the disc brake. Kind of like GM has mastered the art of the archaic pushrod motor, while the rest of the word is DOHC.

If it's not broke, why fix it. Although makes you wonder why Tundra's have disk in the rear.

Come on guys. Lighten up. There's alot of extra's on these trucks and dealers aren't marking off of MSRP. That doesn't mean I'm justifying the price - Toyota should have added more options for that price that's for sure.

If a dude wants a kick-ass warrantied stock suspension, TRD Exhaust and awesome rims and tires for shitty roads and light off-roading and has to pay a little more to get it - why give him a hard time about it?

You don't hear these Baja and Pro guys dogging out someone who bought an SR5 with shitty seats and dumped 15 - 20k into it, which by the way will have a horrible resale value.

    Live and let live.

Truck has damn near everything I want done to it already, and the only color I actually like since they got rid of speedway blue(inferno). Ideal for me.
